The strength of a piece of sheet metal can be considerably increased by pressing grooves, ribs, or designs into it. Each groove, bead, or line increases the panel's strength while also adding a decorative element. The tension in the panel will be held by the stretched metal in those regions, giving it structural stability.

The ribs are a part of the ribbed surface that is created by the ribbing tool. They are also used as a guide for the ribbed surface.

Ribs are one of the most commonly used elements in design, and they have many different uses. They can be seen as a break in a line or as part of the overall shape. They also add visual interest to a design by creating rhythm and adding depth to an otherwise flat surface.

Ribs and dowels are primarily used to provide support in the building process. However, they also have other purposes such as providing a place for connections between different parts of the building or being a structural component of a building.

Ribs and dowels are two different types of joints that work in different ways. Ribs are better for compression, while dowels are better for tension.
