CATIA V5 Surface Design: Split Operation

A user can clip off two parts alternately using Catia's Trim option. It is critical to pick the pieces that will be chopped off before we begin trimming (They will appear in the trimmed elements field). The system also saves the section of the element where we clicked.

  • Click the Join button. The dialogue box for Join Definition appears.
  • Choose Split. 1 and the inverse
  • Check for connexity.
  • To build the linked surface, click OK.
  • Select Split. The dialogue box for Split Definition appears.
  • Choose a surface.
  • To split the closed surface, click OK.

  • Spline click
  • Choose two or more points from which to make the spline.
  • If you wish the spline to be projected onto a support surface, check the Geometry on support option and choose a support (plane, surface).
