Parametric modelling is a type of modelling that allows you to adjust the shape of the model geometry as the dimension value changes. Parametric modelling is accomplished by using design computer programming code, such as a script, to define the model's dimensions and shape.
Parametric design allows you to input essential project parameters and make adjustments interactively while the model updates itself. It can be used for architectural showmanship, but I believe it will be utilised by smart engineers to create more efficient designs, explore more choices, and optimise buildings.
The development of a digital model based on a set of pre-programmed rules or algorithms known as parameters is known as parametric modelling (or parametric design). That is, rather than being manually edited, the model or components of it are generated automatically by internal logic arguments.
Design intent is a computer-aided design method for defining relationships between elements so that changes to one automatically affect the others.
Object-based parametric modelling has been around since the 1980s. It is not capable of representing things with fixed geometry and characteristics. Rather, it describes objects using parameters and rules that determine both the geometry and some non-geometric qualities and features.
