Introduction to CAD

Computer-aided design (CAD) is a method of creating 2D and 3D models of real-world goods digitally before they are created. You can simply share, review, simulate, and edit designs with 3D CAD, allowing you to quickly develop unique and differentiated products.

"Computer-Aided Design" is an acronym. The use of computers to create 2D and 3D designs is known as CAD. Two-dimensional layout design and three-dimensional modelling are two common types of CAD. Although 2D CAD has various uses, it is most typically used to create vector-based layouts.

CAD (Computer Aided Design) is the process of designing and documenting a product using computer software. The usage of graphical symbols such as points, lines, curves, planes, and forms is common in engineering drawings.

CAD Software Types:

  • 2D CAD.
  • 3D CAD.
  • Surface and 3D wireframe modelling.
  • Modeling with solids.

Experts can use CAD to make more precise design representations. Manual design drafting was replaced by CAD, which allowed for design development, modification, and optimization. Engineers may create more exact designs and alter them virtually using CAD. The relationship between multiple materials is calculated using CAD software.

Architectural (feet and inches), decimals, engineering (inches), fractional, and scientific units are used (10e form).
