This task demonstrates how to design the faces of a pocket and fill in the edges. To speed up your design, we recommend using this new command.
Select the icon for Pocket. The application displays the Pocket Definition dialogue box and previews a pocket. If you start the Pocket command without a profile, simply click the icon to open the Sketcher and draw the profile you require.
Pad should be clicked. The Pad Definition dialogue box appears, and the application shows you a preview of the pad you're about to construct.
Increase the length value by 40 in the Length field. Drag the LIM1 or LIM2 manipulators to raise or decrease length values.
To see the result, you can click Preview.
Click OK
The application allows you to construct pads from open profiles as long as the pads can be trimmed using existing geometry. The pad below was made from an open profile with both terminals extending onto the hexagon's inner vertical faces. "Up to next" is the option for Limit 1.
