Assembly Design Part Manipulation in CATIA V5

  • With an assembly open, go to Component > Assemble > Assemble.
  • Choose a CATIA V5 CATPart.
  • Select the part file you want to use as a part component in an existing assembly or explore to find it.
  • Import the CATIA V5 part and assemble it as an imported component in the existing assembly by selecting Import.

  • Tools> generate part from assembly opens your assembly.
  • In the part tree, select the assembly you want to convert.
  • Click the OK button.
  • Save the new component.

Click the New Part icon after selecting Product1. If the assembly has geometry, the New Part: Origin Point dialogue box appears, offering two options for locating the part: To locate the part origin point on a specific point, such as another component, select Yes.

Select your assembly in the tree by opening it. Then choose Tools -> Generate CATPart from Product. from the menu. Then you can decide whether you want to combine all of the bodies into one or have many bodily parts.
