CPS Stack Part Modeling: Heatsink Mounting Plate

Heat sinks are used to cool down the CPU and other electronic components. The heat sinks can be mounted on the motherboard or on a plate that is attached to the bottom of the motherboard.

The benefits of using a heatsink mounting plate include:

  • It is easy to put the components and the motherboard on.
  • It can be used for both Intel and AMD processors.
  • It is easy to install a power supply without having to remove it from the motherboard first.

  • A heatsink mounting plate is a metal or plastic plate that has a number of holes drilled into it. It is used to mount a heat sink on the motherboard.
  • The most common type of heatsink mounting plate is the one that has four holes near the corners, with two small screws at each corner. These screws are used to secure the motherboard onto the mounting plate.

There are different types of heatsinks available in the market. They have different features and capabilities. For example, the heatsink with a copper base is best for overclocking and can provide better cooling for CPUs whereas the aluminum base heatsink is more cost-effective and also has a higher thermal conductivity.

The most common reason people need a heatsink mounting plate is when they are overclocking their CPU. They have to use a heatsink mounting plate because it has better thermal conductivity than other materials, like copper or aluminum.
