Select Plane. The dialogue window for Plane Definition appears. Choose the plane type Offset from plane. The plane is represented by a green square symbol that you can move using the graphic manipulator once you've specified it. Enter an Offset value after selecting a reference Plane.
Go to the Tools menu > Options in CATIA to adjust the size of the reference planes. Click the Display tab in the Options dialogue box under Infrastructure > Part Infrastructure. The planes' size is regulated by the scroll bar adjacent to the Axis system display size (in mm) field in the Display in Geometry Area.
From the menu bar, choose Insert > Axis System or click Axis System.
To position the origin of the axis system you want to develop, select the point as shown.
If you don't like the direction of the x axis, you can change it by clicking the X Axis field and selecting a line.
An axis is an unseen line that rotates or spins an object. The North and South Poles of an object are the spots where an axis connects with its surface.
