Extruding a profile or a surface and removing the material that results from the extrusion constitutes creating a pocket. The application allows you to set the creation limitations as well as the extrusion direction. The restrictions you have are the same as those for building pads.
This job demonstrates how to use different length values to extrude numerous profiles from the same sketch. You can accomplish this all at once thanks to the multi-pad functionality. You'll learn how to edit the generated feature at the end of the work.
Then select Multi-Pocket.
Choose Sketch. 4 contains the profiles that will be extruded
Choose the domain Extrusion. 1 from the pop-up menu
Enter a value to specify the length. Enter 10mm as an example.
You must repeat the procedure for each extrusion domain by providing the desired value.
Pad to click.
Increase the length value by 40 in the Length field.
To see the result, you can click Preview.
Click OK .
The application allows you to construct pads from open profiles as long as the pads can be trimmed using existing geometry. The pad below was made from an open profile with both terminals extending onto the hexagon's inner vertical faces. "Up to next" is the option for Limit 1.
