Scaling and Affinity Feature in CATIA V5

By multiplying a scale ratio in one direction by a geometric coordinate value, an Affinity transformation changes the absolute size of the selected functional features. Unlike the Scale transformation, the referenced axis system can employ a distinct scale factor in each direction.

  • Document CATPart.
  • Select Scaling.
  • Select the Element that needs to be scaled.
  • Choose a reference point, plane, or planar surface for scaling.
  • Enter a value or use the drag manipulator to set the scale ratio.
  • To construct the scaled element, click OK.

  • To rotate and zoom in CATIA V5, you can also use the mouse buttons and the CTRL key.
  • Hold down the middle mouse button and either the right or left mouse button at the same time to rotate.
  • Alternatively, to zoom.
