It is a type of fold that creates one side of the object, which is the side that will be seen when the object is unfolded. A folding fold creates two sides of the object, which are both visible when it's unfolded.
In CATIA V5, there are many different types of folds that can be created. Some of the most common are the four-fold, six-fold, and eight-fold folds.
