A sketch is created in the Sketcher workbench in CATIA. Choose the down arrow to the right of the Sketcher button in the Sketcher toolbar to open the Sketcher workbench; a flyout displays.
A profile feature is made up of a series of connected or unconnected curves. The geometry of an output profile is automatically removed from the sketch feature 3D result when it is formed. In other words, output profiles inside the 3D space are made available and updated independently of the sketch.
Assume you're creating a CATIA model.... Using the TRIM tool to pick the two lines that make the sharp corner is one technique to close the corner. Another option is to use the CLOSE OPEN PROFILE tool from Sketch Analysis. Both approaches work, thanks.
In Catia, go to Tools > Sketch Analysis to access the Sketch Analysis tools. Even with complex shapes, it is simple to evaluate and emphasise the open profile.
