This plane can also be rotated to create different perspectives, which is useful for modifying how an object appears. The projection plane will not project all surfaces of a 3D object onto it, but only those that are perpendicular to the plane.
The easiest way to project 3D elements in CATIA V5 is to use the perspective view. To do this, open the Perspective View window and then drag and drop 3D elements from the graphics area into it.
To activate the right view, double-click it. In the 3D Geometry toolbar, select the Project 3D Silhouette Edges icon ( Use-edge sub-toolbar). Select the canonical surface to be projected in the section view's 3D background. The right view plane is projected with the silhouette edge.
Select Projection.
Choose the element that will be projected.
Choose the Support option.
To determine the projection's direction type, use the combo:
When numerous projections are possible, click Nearest Solution to keep the closest projection.
To build the projection element, click OK.
Click Project Curve on the Curves toolbar, or Insert > Curve > Projected to project a curve. To project a sketched curve onto a model face, use this option. Select the curve in the graphics area or from the flyout FeatureManager design tree under Sketch to Project.
