FAQs

The wrap feature is a powerful tool that enables you to create the perfect shape around your part. You can use this tool in different combinations to make circular or rectangular shapes. Around 150 years before the invention of the wrap feature in Solidworks, there was a similar tool called a punch card punch used by punch card operators. The punch card punch allowed users to make holes around perimeter of cards (similar tools are still used today in manufacturing). The SOLIDWORKS Wrap feature allows you to remove or add material to a part by projecting a sketch around a surface.

Solidworks is a computer-aided design software that uses 3D modeling to create 3D models of physical objects. It is widely used by designers, engineers, architects and other professionals in the industry. You can wrap an image around a Solidworks model using the Mirror command. When you launch this command, it will automatically create a 2D image of the 3D model. Once you have wrapped the image around the model, you can hit “undo” to undo your work or “finish” to complete your task. Mostly this command is used when designing posters or wrapping products for packaging purposes. It's also helpful when trying to create static designs that are meant for printing on t-shirts or stickers, since it allows designers to make sure their designs are printed

SOLIDWORKS Wrap Feature The user interface for the Wrap feature has an added button to indicate that the text you are using can be wrapped around a complex surface. Simply select this option when using wrap and click on the faces of your model that you would like your sketch to be wrapped around
