FAQs

The weldment tab is the type of tab found at the bottom of the SOLIDWORKS interface. It has various features and options that can be used to create weldments, which are structures that are used in sheet metal designs. The weldment tab allows users to create these structures by using different tools and commands, such as creating a new table or adding geometry to an existing one. This is helpful for people who need to create complicated structures with multiple parts, such as scaffolding pipe sections. The weldment tab can also be found on the Sheet Metal page in the Model Browser toolbox by clicking on the icon located in the top-right corner of this toolbox's interface or at "Tools > Weldments

A weldment is a type of building block for SOLIDWORKS structure. A weldment can be made up of plates, shells, faces, parts or assemblies. The purpose of a weldment is to provide an assembly that is stronger than the sum of its parts. These types of blocks are typically used in automotive design and aerospace engineering design.

Adding a weldment library to SOLIDWORKS can improve the design process in various ways. Not only does it increase efficiency, but it also helps the company to focus on specific areas in which they need to excel. The benefits of adding a weldment library to our toolbox are endless; these benefits include increased productivity, better quality, and more efficiency in the design process. Added features like scaling, rotation, and moving part make designing with solids easier than ever before.
