Arc, Ellipse & Slot tool in Solidworks

3 Point Arc Slot (Sketch toolbar) or Tools > Sketch Entities > 3 Point Arc Slot can be found in a sketch. To specify the arc's starting point, click. To specify the arc's finishing point, move the pointer and then click. Click after moving the pointer to the third point of the arc.

  • tab for sketching. To pick slot tools from the Slot flyout tool, click the Slot CommandManager.
  • Menu To select slot tools, go to Tools > Sketch Entities.
  • Slot PropertyManager. Change slot tools in the Slot PropertyManager.

  • In a sketch, go to Tools > Sketch Entities > Straight Slot (Sketch toolbar) or Tools > Sketch
  • Entities > Straight Slot (Sketch toolbar).
  • Select the slot's start point by clicking.
  • To specify the length of the slot, move the pointer and then click.
  • To specify the slot width, move the pointer and then click.

Tools > Sketch Entities > Centerpoint Straight Slot (Sketch toolbar) or Centerpoint Straight Slot (Sketch toolbar). To specify the slot's centre point, click. To specify the length of the slot, move the pointer and then click. To specify the slot width, move the pointer and then click.

Using the Ellipse tool, you can draw a new arc or pie shape, or you can draw an ellipse or circle and then change it to an arc or a pie shape. You can also change the default properties of new objects that are drawn with the Ellipse tool.
