Close Sketch tool, Model tool & Convert Entities in Solidworks

Closes a sketch with an open profile, using existing model edges. To use an open profile sketch to extrude using existing model edges: Open a sketch on a model face. Sketch an open profile with endpoints that are coincident with model edges on the same face boundary.

SOLIDWORKS can import, build, and manipulate surfaces, view models in wireframe mode, and generate 2D drawings from 3D solid models. ScanTo3D tools, which are included in SOLIDWORKS Premium, import mesh and point cloud data from which surfaces and solid models can be created.

Part modelling is the process of making a virtual prototype of something by modelling each individual part independently, which can later be integrated to form the final product model.

The Convert Entities tool in SOLIDWORKS is handy and strong because it projects the edges of a face onto the active drawing regardless of whether the face is parallel to the active sketch. When looking at the sketch normally, these edges will always be projected.

By projecting an edge, loop, face, curve, or external sketch contour, set of edges, or set of sketch curves onto the sketch plane, you can construct one or more curves in a sketch.
