In this tutorial, we will learn about how to create attribute in AutoCAD.
Now in this video, we will learn how to define a block command with attributes.
We will use the block command here by pressing the 'B+Enter' key from our keyboard. One block definition menu will open in front of our screen, and after that, we will name the block and pick a point for that block.
We will keep the Object option as 'Convert to block' and then select the object. As we do this, we will press Enter key and observe that our block has been made.
We have set the block unit as inches and marked Allow exploding option. After editing all the possibilities, we will press OK.
As soon as we click OK, one block will open in front of our screen named 'Edit attributes'. We have written the ROOM NO and ROOM NAME, so we will edit our required values like room number as 101 and room name as Dining Room.
Now we can see that the attribute will have appeared on our main screen, and we can move it according to our choice from its source point to any other point on the whole screen.
If we want to use the attribute definition, we can use the insert command by pressing the 'I+Enter' key from our keyboard.
We use this command insert menu will open in front of our screen, and we will click OK in that menu.
After that, we will select the point where we want our attribute to display.
And after that, we will follow the same method which we followed above for editing attributes.

To generate the attributes, go to the Home tab>expanded block panel or the Insert tab>Block Definition panel and click Define Attributes. When you define an attribute, you must include the following information: A name-based tag that identifies the attribute (no spaces). A prompt that appears as the block is being added.
A label or tag that attaches data to a block is known as an attribute. A components list or bill of materials can be created using attribute data collected from a drawing in a spreadsheet or database. You can associate many attributes with a block as long as each attribute has its own tag.

How to Make an Attribute Definition and Attach It
Select the Home tab. Panel with a block Define the terms "attributes" and "values." Find.
Set the attribute modes and enter tag information, location, and text options in the Attribute Definition dialogue box.
Click the OK button.
Make or rename a block (BLOCK).
Select a block from the Block list in the Block Attribute Manager, or click Select Block and select a block from the drawing area. Double-click the attribute you want to update in the list of attributes, or pick the attribute and click Edit.
Firstly, you need to create a new line and make it a dimension. This will create an attribute line.
Secondly, you need to select the line and go to the Properties palette. Select the "Attributes" tab and then click on "Add". You can then type in what you want your attribute to be called and provide any other information that might be useful.
Thirdly, you can now select this attribute in your drawing by clicking on it or selecting it from the "Selection" drop-down menu.
The following are the types of attributes in AutoCAD:
-Line: A line is a two-dimensional object with length but no width
-Polyline: A polyline is a two-dimensional object with length and width
-Circle: A circle is a two-dimensional object with radius but no diameter
-Ellipse: An ellipse is a two dimensional object with radius and diameter
