The "Trim" function on the Modify panel is the simplest way to trim objects in AutoCAD 2016:

  • To begin, select the items that you wish to cut.
  • To complete the selection, right-click on the blank spot.
  • Trim the lines by left-clicking on them.

Select Line Tangent & Perp > Line Tangent to Curve from the Keypoint Curve Tools menu. Select the tangent line's starting point. To make the line tangent to a curve, click it. The Line Tangent to Curve tool determines the point at which a line becomes tangent to a curve.

To Create a Virtual Intersection Between Two Lines (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset):

  • Select the Home tab. Create a panel Center, Radius, Circle drop-down
  • Enter AMPSNAPVINT at the Command prompt.
  • The first line must be specified (1).
  • The second line should be specified (2).
  • It is possible to find the virtual intersection of the two lines.

Simply type "Join" into the command prompt. In the command section, type "Join." Press enter after selecting the lines to be linked. That is all there is to it.

To Combine Polylines, Splines, Lines, and Arcs in a Single Object:

  • Select the Home tab. Make changes to the panel Polyline can be edited. Find.
  • To edit, choose a polyline, spline, line, or arc.
  • Enter the letter j. (Join).
  • Choose one or more polylines, splines, lines, or arcs that are connected at their ends.
  • To end the command, press Enter.
