GROUP Command in AutoCAD
In this video, we will see how to create a group and how to use the Group command in Autocad.
Group command is used to select an object. The shortcut key for group command is the 'G+Enter' key.
As soon as we use this command, we will first ask to enter a group name to enter it as our choice. We can also add a description for our group, which is not compulsory.
After naming the group, we will select the objects we want to add to our group one by one.
As soon as we press enter after selecting all the objects we wanted to add to our group, there will be one line written in the command prompt window. Group 'group_name' has been created.
We can also edit in our group by adding or removing objects from them. For this purpose, we will use the group edit option, and in this option, we will first ask to select a group and then add or remove objects as per our need by using the 'Add objects' and 'Remove objects' option.
We can also rename the name of our group by using this Group edit option. We will then ask to select a group, and then we have one option that will state 'Rename.' By using this option, we can change the name of our group.
We can also ON/OFF the group selection option. It means that if we have kept ON this option, we can select the whole group at once, but if this option is kept OFF, we will select only one single object at once, not the whole group.
We can also bound our group with a box by using the 'Group Bounding Box' option.
