Now we will see that how to create layers in AutoCAD.
Layers are used to repeat the settings we have done like color, line type, line type scale, etc. We do not need to apply that setting repeatedly; therefore, we will use layer properties.
We can select the layer properties from the command menu or enter the shortcut key in our command prompt window. The shortcut key for using this command is the 'L+A+Enter' key.
As soon as we enter the shortcut key, one menu will appear in front of our screen named 'Layer Properties Manager. So from here, we can make new layers.
Firstly we will be given some options in different columns like Status, Name, On, Freeze, Lock, Color, Linetype, Lineweight, Transparency, Plot Style, and many more.
Now to understand how to create a new layer in AutoCAD, we will click on New layer and name the layer first as 'WALLS.' After that. We will select the color of it as per our choice. Here we will choose red color.
After that, we can also select line type, and if the line type we want is not loaded, we can load it from the Load button provided there and then select it.
Similarly, we can also give the line weight to the line which we selected.
By the same method, we can also create a new layer in AutoCAD, and name it 'CENTRE' and choose the color of our choice. Here, in this case, we will select a yellow color. If we want the centerline, we can load it and select it in the line type column. Also, we can manage the line weight according to our choice from the options it provides.
So like this, we can create multiple layers in AutoCAD and add data of our choice.
Hence when we want to use any layer, we will select the layer by double-clicking it and using it to draw the line.
So like this, we can create layers in AutoCAD and use them.
In this video, we will learn how to create table in AutoCAD and different AutoCAD table styles.
We can go to the annotation column in the command menu, select the table option, or type the shortcut key for this option's command prompt window.
The shortcut key for the AutoCAD insert table is the 'T+B+Enter' key.
As soon as we select this command, one menu will open in front of our screen, in which we have three options to insert the table.
One is to start from an empty table, the second is to start from a data link, and the third one is data extraction, i.e., from object data in the drawing.
Another option we have is column and row settings; in this option, we can specify the number of columns and rows we want in our table. We can also adjust the height and width of row and column, respectively.
Another option is 'Set Cell Styles.' It will ask to enter the First-row cell style, Second-row cell style, and remaining all other row cell styles. Cell styles will be like Title, Header, and Data.
As soon as we press OK, it will ask us where we want to paste this table.
After placing the table as per our choice, we can write inside it according to our requirements.
Now after learning how to insert table in AutoCAD, we can also create a new AutoCAD table style. For the AutoCAD table formatting, we can select this option from our to modify panel. And after that, we will be able to see one menu appear in front of our screen.
Inside, we have general properties like fill colour, alignment, format, type, margins, merge cells, etc. We can edit every option according to our requirements.
We also have text properties like text style, text height, text colour, text angle, etc. We can add border properties like line weight, line type, colour, spacing etc. We also have one cell style preview option, which shows the preview of what we select and edit in different properties.
After completing all properties and setting each and everything of the table, we will press OK, and now we can use this table style that we created to insert the new table in this format.
