Data Fetching in React

  • Create React Project. npm create-react-app MY-APP.
  • Change to a new directory and type cd MY-APP to get to your primary folder charting.
  • To get data from the API, write code in App. js and use the fetch function.

The Fetch API is an utility that runs on the window object (window. fetch) in most modern browsers and allows us to make HTTP calls using JavaScript promises. We only need to supply the URL endpoint to which we wish to make our request when using fetch to create a simple GET request.

We can make an HTTP call to the backend using the fetch() method of the Fetch API. We can use this method to execute a variety of HTTP activities, such as requesting data from an endpoint using the GET method, sending data to an endpoint using the POST method, and so on.
