FAQs

The inquiry command is an AutoCAD function that allows users to find out the parametric values of a drawing. It can be used for finding the coordinates, lengths, and angles of any entity on a drawing.

The following are some inquiry commands that can be used to retrieve information about entities in AutoCAD-

A. Command:

  • Info

B. Command:

  • Layers

C. Command:

  • Dimensions

D. Command:

  • Surfaces

An inquiry command is a request for information about the current drawing, such as its name or the number of layers.

The following are the different types of inquiry commands and their functions:

  • Show Layers: Lists all layers in the current drawing, including those that are hidden or suppressed.
  • Show Block: Displays all blocks in the current drawing, including those that are hidden or suppressed.
  • Properties: Displays properties of a selected object, such as layer name and color.

The steps for measuring an object in AutoCAD are as follows:

  • Open the software.
  • Go to the Home tab and click on the "Measure" button.
  • Select a measurement type from the dropdown menu and click on "OK."
  • Draw a line where you want to measure, select it, and then click on "Measure" again.
  • Press enter or space bar to end measuring.

This command can be used in a variety of ways. For example, it can be used to measure the distance between two points on a drawing and add text at that location. It can also be used to measure the distance between two points on a drawing and add an object such as a line or arrowhead at that location. The Measure command is also often used with other commands such as Copy, Line, and Erase to create more complex drawings or objects.
