External references, often known as xrefs, are files that are added as attachments or overlays to AutoCAD designs. Under the Reference Type section of the Attach External Reference menu in AutoCAD, you can overlay or attach an xref.
Xrefs are adaptable and simple to utilise for a variety of DWG kinds, whether they include a single item or a whole design. When the host drawing is opened, updates to the external drawing display automatically, and notification of updates is provided during the host drawing session.
If we select Attachment type, all xrefs we enter into our drawing will be carried over to the next drawing when we xref your drawing into another. If you select Overlay type instead, the xref that was placed into our drawing file will not be carried over to the next drawing.
