A label or tag that attaches data to a block is known as an attribute. Part numbers, pricing, remarks, and owners' names are examples of data that could be stored in an attribute. You can associate many attributes with a block as long as each attribute has its own tag.
Attribute definitions are an excellent way to store text information in AutoCAD drawings as part of blocks. Block definitions can have attributes added to them to make them more informative. You can, for example, add an attribute to a door or window block in a drawing to indicate the name, size, or description of the manufacturer.
Select a block from the Block list in the Block Attribute Manager, or click Select Block and select a block from the drawing area. Double-click the attribute you want to update in the list of attributes, or pick the attribute and click Edit.
To define the block, first hit CTRL+SHIFT+C on the keyboard, then snap to the "insertion" point where you want it to be defined. Then, with ENTER, select the items from which you wish to build a block.
