Add-ons for Web Browsers

Plugins and add-ons for your web browser are programmes that extend the functionality of your browser. They can be used to view media material on a website, get news and email, download files, block unwanted pop-up windows, and so forth.

  • Go to the Google Chrome Web Store.
  • Locate and choose the desired extension.
  • Select Add to Chrome from the drop-down menu.
  • If particular permissions or data are required, certain extensions will notify you. To approve, select Add extension from the drop-down menu. Important: Only approve extensions from people you know and trust.

Extensions can change your browser's user interface or add Web service capability. Extensions are used to hide adverts on Web pages, translate content from one language to another, and add pages to third-party bookmarking services like Evernote and Pocket, for example.

There are a few options for getting there. More Tools > Extensions can be accessed by clicking the three stacked dots in the upper right corner of the toolbar. Alternatively, go to Window > Extensions from the menu bar. Alternatively, right-click any extension icon in your toolbar and select Manage Extensions from the menu.

Extensions, sometimes known as "add-ons," are available in most web browsers. Extensions are little programmes that add functionality to your browser and improve or change how web pages are displayed.
