VLAN Hopping Part - 2

VLAN hopping is a technique used to move between different VLANs on the same switch. It can be used for security reasons, such as when you want to access a server in a different VLAN without having to cross-connect with the switch.

VLAN hopping is a technique that can help an organization to bypass the firewall and gain access to a private network. It is also used by attackers who want to get access to the network without being noticed.

Organizations that have deployed and used VLAN hopping technologies include:

  • United States Department of Defense
  • The National Security Agency
  • The U.S. Army
  • The U.S. Air Force
  • United States Coast Guard
  • NASA

One of the most common ways to attack a network is by using VLAN hopping. This is where an attacker creates a duplicate VLAN and connects it to the target network. The attacker then uses that connection as a way to gain access to the network.
