Central Act and State Act

An Act of the Dominion Legislature or the Indian Legislature passed before the beginning of the Constitution, and an Act made before such commencement by the Governor General in Council or the Governor General, acting in a legislative capacity, will be referred to as a Central Act.

There are a total of 6,779 Central Acts listed in this book. It covers a list of all repealed laws as well as obsolete laws.

In India, the Contract Act is the most essential piece of legislation.

The Strengthening the Tenth Amendment Through Entrusting States (STATES) Act (S. 3032) was a measure introduced in the 115th United States Congress that would recognise cannabis legalisation and state laws that have legalised it through legislatures or citizen initiatives in the United States.

Legislative, judicial, and notarial acts are all common forms of acts.
