In this video we are going to cover some interview questions regarding Computer Hardware Jobs. If you are going as an 'Desktop Support' in any company then what are the questions which you are likely to face in your Interviews are covered in this whole video. We'll start with some of the basic question and then we'll focus on other practical questions.
(Ques-1) What is Hardware ?
(Ans-1) Computer Hardware is the physical components that a computer system requires to function. It encompasses everything with a circuit board that operates within a PC or laptop; including the motherboard, graphics card, CPU - Central Processing Unit, ventilation fans, webcam, power supply, and so on. In short, the components which can be touched and feeled with bare hands are known as Hardware Components of Computer.
(Ques-2) What is Computer ?
(Ans-2) A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information, or data. It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. You may already know that you can use a computer to type documents, send email, play games, and browse the Web. You can also use it to edit or create spreadsheets, presentations, and even videos.
(Ques-3) What are the different functions of a Computer ?
(Ans-3) Taking data and instructions from a user, processing the data as per instructions, and displaying or storing the processed data, are the four major functions of a computer. These functions are also known as the input function, process function, output function, and storage function, respectively. Simply, Input, Processing, Output & Execution are the four different functionalities on which the Computer system works.
(Ques-4) What is SMPS & How to resolve SMPS Issue ?
(Ans-4) SMPS is switched-mode power supply that provides electrical power to all the components of motherboard.
Now, if your computer is dead and even not a single lights glow on your Motherboard, the basic need is to check is SMPS. To do so, Remove power cable form SMPS and unplug all connections of peripherals (Hard disk Motherboard, DVD etc.) Now you can check SMPS easily by connecting small wire between green color (PS_ON) and black color wire (COM). After connecting, plugin power cable and switch on the SMPS. If SMPS fan runs, SMPS is working.
(Ques-5) Explain about System Hanging Issues.
(Ans-5) Hardware and Software specification problem can cause random computer freezes and reboots. In hardware there can be issue with the notches of RAM, or some of the cells of RAM can not work properly and etc...
Frozen Computer (Computer is hanged) is the one which is completely unresponsive. It is unable to perform any input changes from keyboard and mouse.
We can also face Driver Installation questions in an Interview because mainly if any company is hiring you as an Desktop Support then it will surely check that how you are facing the installation problems. Hardware & software installations are the must which one should focus on while preparing for interview.
