TOPIC: Project Plan part-1
Hello Friends
Welcome to Learn Vern
I am (name) and I welcome you all to today’s video. So, in the last video, we learned about the Array Style where we learned about the last style which is Path Array. In today’s video we are going to learn about the project. That is, from today we are going to start a project and, in that project, we will consider a plan which will be of 2BHK. So, in that 2BHK residential building we will firstly make a plan, then make its elevation, then we will make its section and then, at last, we will insert some furniture. So, let’s start today’s video.
So, as I told you all that in the 2BHK residential building, we will prepare a plan, elevation and its section and its different arrangements or if we want to insert any object in it like furniture and then the sofa, TV so, these are all things we are going to learn during this project. So, to work on this project I have a plan over here . Its elevation is also there, at the side there is a section, and its terrace plan is also available. Let me zoom in to show you. (14 sec pause) So, here you can see that this is a plan. Okay? And the dimensions we used in this dimension are feet and inches. Then we have given the section also…Here the section is available. Okay? So, in this section we will get to know about how thick the walls are, then how we have designed the staircase, and how we placed the different arrangements. And the section over here, the foundation plan of it or the footing plan, that is also available.
Then we have exactly done the placing of elevation above the plan. In elevation you can see that I have noted different levels here like Plinth level, sill level, lintel level, level up to the slab, R.C.C. slab, and stair room. With these levels we have given the different heights also like we will start exactly from the bottom which is ground level, so, this is zero. We have kept zero as ground level and 2 feet from zero is the plinth level. And when we move forward, the feet will be high, and we will work with the different levels. Okay?
Then I have given another thing here which is the terrace plan. The plan I have made here, is the ground floor plan and on the first floor there is only a terrace or open terrace and the stair room is available. So, this is also what I have made here and here I have also given the details. Where I have given details about two things, which is staircase details where we need to see how much tread and riser is in it. okay?
Then the other is opening details, where we have given the details about doors and windows which we use, like how much size they are so, we need to note the size of them also that is when someone works with this, they can know the actual size of the doors and windows or what we have kept here. And like this, I have prepared the plan, elevation, and section. Okay? Then you can see that in the plan I have done some arrangements, like a plan, then above is the elevation, then at the side is a section and at the bottom is a terrace. And here you can see that I have prepared a whole sheet, so, this is called layout. So, how can we prepare a layout, how can we insert them in different sizes, that is if our size requirement is A3, A4, A0 A2, so, like this we can insert this plan in it. So, I will tell you all about this at last about how to save this in PDF or jpg or you want to print it out. So, I will tell you this after this project plan, elevation, section, and furniture. So, let’s start with the first thing which is a plan. (5 sec pause) (05:46)
So, the plan looks like this…So, here I can see that the width of the wall is 9 inches, then I have given the “X (into) dimensions”, then the internal wall dimension is 6 inches, and also the “X (into) dimensions”. So, to make this plan ready I will first see that the plan is made in feet and inches. So, like this, the unit should be working in the AutoCAD, and if not then I have to set that first. Then another thing I have to see is the limit of this plan, elevation, section. That is if I see that this is 15 feet, sorry this is 12 feet, this is almost 12 feet, so, 12 by 12 is 24 so, we will take it as 30 and this is also 20 that is 50 feet. So, this is the Y direction, in the X direction, 15 x 10 is 25, there is a gap in between. This also is almost the same size… So, the total is 50 by 50. so, this whole working space should be available. So, first, we will set the unit, and then we will start with the plan. Okay?
So, for that, I will start AutoCAD first. Okay? So, here you can see that the AutoCAD is open. After opening AutoCAD, I need to set the units, for that “UN” + “Enter”. Then I will see which unit is working. For that I will go to architectural, then feet, so, like this, I have set the unit and this is my precision, that is after which precision point I will go or in how much detail I want to work in feet and inches. Then “Okay”. Then the next thing is the limit, for that, we will type “LIMIT” and we always keep the first corner as 0,0 so “0” SO, 0 comma 0. Then the second corner which we have seen as 50 by 50. So, we will keep here 100 by 100, which is exactly double of it. We can keep 75 also.
So, I want the whole space to be available.. I will do 100 by 100 and then enter. So, here you can see that the spacing is not that much available. Right now, it's 6 feet. So, to make the whole working space available, I have told you in a video that “Z” + “Enter” “A” + “Enter”. So, the working space is available over here….Sorry, I made a mistake here and you may all also do that so, keep that in mind. The mistake I made is that, the limit I set, the first was correct which is 0 by 0 and in the second corner I put 100 by 100 and if I put 100 without any signs of feet, then it will convert 100 into inches and then it will be fully available. That is 100 inches is equal to 7 feet. So, like this, the unit will be inserted. Now what we have to do is that 100 feet. So, for that the switch near the “enter”, comma, 100 feet, and then enter. Now we will see “Z” + ‘Enter” “A” + “Enter”. We will check it once again. You can see that it is now exactly 100 feet which are now available. So, you all should keep this in mind that when you work in feet and inches, and you have to use only digits, then you have to do that after converting it into inches and to work in feet then enter 5 and then the sign of feet. Okay?
Or it will insert 5 inches and then it works like that. Okay? So, firstly I will take a line. And you can see that the line is not straight so, I will click “F8” which is ortho that is when we use ortho the line becomes straight. Okay? Then I am taking here 50. Okay? Then here also 50. Enter. Okay? Now what I have to do is that I need to make this wall and then set this dimension of 15. So, for that, I will first take this line...Then I will put “Offset” and then I want to take 9 inches, like this. (6 sec pause) (12:00)
“O” + “Enter”.. Okay? Now what I have to do is...that I want to make another wall here, so, I will put one more offset. So, for that offset, we will see the dimension which is 15. So, we will put one more offset “O” + “Enter” 15 and now what I have to do is that is feet and then enter. And like this, it will be inserted. We will use here “EX” which is extended and I want to extend till here, which line? This line. And this line is extended over here. (6 sec pause)
Now I need to take another offset, I want to extend this line a little more. We need to take one more offset, “O” + “Enter”, then 6 inches. And this is 6 inches. Okay? Now what I have to do is that I have to another offset from here. Why? This line over here is also 9 inches wall and then the vertically or upward direction is 12 feet. So, here we will “O” + “Enter”, 9 inches, from here to here. Then I need to take one more extension or offset, “O” + “Enter”, and this is 12 feet and then enter, like this. Now I have to extend this line, so, I will use “EX” + “Enter”. And we want to extend till here, then select the object and then enter, then this whole line will be extended. So, you can see that this room is almost available. Then we need another offset, which is 9 inches, and another offset which will be 11 feet 3 inches. So, let’s see. We need another offset “O” + “Enter”, which is 9 inches, another offset “O” + “Enter”, which is 11 feet 3 inches, and then enter..So, this is also prepared. We need another offset from here which is 9 inches so, “O” + “Enter” 9 enter. Then we will use an extension or we can draw a line, “EX” + “Enter”. And we want to extend this till here and the enter. So, these lines are extended till here. Okay?
So, another thing is that I need another trim thing, “TR” + “double space” and select this and it will be deleted. That is, we have deleted this extra portion and why we have deleted this I will tell you all. Here you can see that this line is exactly in this portion, and this portion is of 11, and the below portion is of 15 feet. That is the offset I want to put is 11 feet. Okay? So, if I want to keep that then I can do that. Then once again I will do “CTRL” + “Z” and this line will be back. Then what will we do is that we will take a line. Okay? So, this is the line we have drawn. Then we will take the offset of this line “O” + “Enter and the offset is of 11 feet and then enter. From here to here, we have put the offset. So, you can see that this is also prepared. Then we need to take this line which is 6 inches, “O” + “Enter”, 6 inches and this is ready. Then we will trim he extra portion and extend this here “EX” + “Enter”. So, now you can see that, one side of the portion is almost ready. Okay? Now we will work on this side. Here we need to offset “O” + “Enter”, the offset from here to here or the dimension is 10 feet. Okay? so, 10 feet enter..There is another wall of 9 inches so, “O” + “Enter” 9 enter. Okay. So, this is also ready. Now we will delete this extra portion with “TR” + “double space” or “double enter”. We will extend this line a little bit so, that we can “Ex” + “enter” and extend this line. Okay? So, almost this box is ready with us. Now we have to prepare this attached toilet, so, for that, the dimension is 6 feet 2 inches. So, for that, I need to prepare a line here. Then delete the extra line prepared here. Then I will make a line with “L” + “enter” then offset “O” + “Enter” 6 feet and 2 inches, enter. From here to here. And then I can remove this line. Okay? So, like this. We need another offset of 6 inches “O” + “Enter” 6 enter from here to here. Okay? So, this portion is also ready. So, now we will make this portion that is this attached toilet. So, for making that we will offset from here or from offset also. So, we will take an offset but first, we will make a line “L + “Enter”.
Keep this in mind that you need to delete that line afterward also, or else the drawing width or line will be a little darker. “O” + “Enter” and the offset we need to take from here to here is 7 feet 7 inches, so, 7 feet 7 inches so, if you press space and the key beside the enter then its inch. We need another offset of 6 from here to here. Okay? So, this is ready and I will delete the line I made. We will make another line from here to here. Why I have made this is because I need to take this offset and the dimension is 7 feet. 7..feet sorry “O” + “Enter”, 7 feet enter from here to here. We need to take an offset of 6 inches.
Now I have to do this to the line but first I will extend this. (9 sec pause, cursor moving) Why did I do this because I want to remove the extra portion from here? “TR” + “double space” and then you can trim. Okay? So, like this, we can make things. Okay? (7 sec pause) “TR”..we will extend this a little bit. “TR” + “double space” and this portion is deleted from here. okay? Now you can see that this portion is ready from here. TR… And we can extend this from here. “EX” + “Enter” and extend this till here. So, you need to see these that whatever commands I am using, I am using it with its shortcut key, for the line “L”, for trim “TR”, for extension or extend “EX”, for offset “O” okay? So, till now we have used these commands. Now we will make this OTS portion…So, you can see that this OTS is exactly of this room size. With 3 feet outside. We will take offset “O” + “Enter” of 3 feet enter from here to here. Okay. We will take another offset “O” + “Enter” of the line which is 6 inches. So, 6 enter from here to here. (22:44)
Then we will extend this line, for that “EX” + “Enter” and we want to extend this till here and we have extended this line till here. Then we will trim. (9 sec pause) So, you can see that this portion is also ready. (6 sec pause) So, we will delete the connected line. (13 sec pause) This line is still here only, so we will extend this and then extend this line till here and then trim.. So, this is also prepared. So, you can see that our plan is almost ready…With trim, you can delete the extra portions. (5 sec pause) So, with your mouse, if you press on this roller then it will work like a pan. Okay?... So, with this pan, we can move this whole drawing and we can do any modification in the area according to our requirement. Okay? So, the drawing is ready. Now what we will do is.. that we will do the placing of doors and windows. So, for the placing of doors and windows either we can make a drawing sorry, we can make doors and windows or we can directly borrow or use the doors and windows from this template. Let’s see how.
So, here we will go “CTRL” + “3”. After going in, we will see that the whole tool pallet is available with us. Then we will go to architecture in it. Then we will go to, if we use imperial then imperial or metric then metric. alright? Then we will select the doors and place them here and then select the window, then place the window here. Then you all can see that the window available with us is in a very small size. so, what will we do? We will do scaling. So, for scaling we can do “C” sorry… “SC” + “Enter”. So, for scaling, we need a multiplication factor. So, we will do it here 10 times. So, when I entered this, the door and the window were now a little bigger than before. Okay? And I have told you all in the video that we can do modification or customization with the opening of the door. So, the opening will be 90 degrees here. Then we do the different placing of it. So, first, we will move it or we can copy it also so, for the copy, it will be “CO” + “Enter”. So, you can see that it is copied, if the ortho is on then you can either move it horizontal or vertical and if your ortho is not on, we will do the placing here. Its position is that it is a little away from the wall, so, for that we will move it a little bit, then on the ortho, so, here is the movement…Okay?
Then we will extend this “EX” + “Enter”. Then extend this or I will make a line here, (8 sec pause) then we will move this, so, this is the move command and this is the base so, from here to here, we have moved it…Okay? Then we remove the extra portion with trim. Okay? So, our door is placed here. So, you all can use the door like this. Suppose we have to place the door here also so, for that we need to rotate this door. So, first, we will copy this and here we have copied this. Then we have to move this in this direction, that’s inside so that it can open towards the wall. So, we will use this to rotate and then exactly rotate this till 90 degrees. So, first, we will see that its placing is a little away from the wall. So, for that, I will draw a line there, like this. Okay? Then I will move this from here..So, here my door is moved. Okay? Then I have selected this and deleted it. And then trim the extra portion. Okay? So, you can see that this line is also trimmed. So, we will extend this till here…So, like this, we can do the placing of doors and windows. So, I will do the placing of all the doors. I want another door so; I will copy this. Then I need to rotate this in this direction..Then select this. First, I will make a line here because the door is a little far away. Then select this then move it (9 sec pause) and then place it here. Then delete the center portion. Then in the kitchen, we are not providing a door in it, it’s an open area. That is the passage and gap will be like this only.
So, you can see here that the line is also deleted here. So, we will do “L” + “Enter” and draw a line from here to here. Then what we have to do is we need to make this door a little smaller so that we will go to scale once again but first, we will copy it. From here to here and then scaling. In scaling, we need to size the door smaller, for that we will go to multiplication factor 0.75 and then enter and you can see that the door is now smaller. Then we will copy this and then I will go in this direction. So, first, we will rotate this, we will be on the “F8” but the direction right now is opposite. So, I have told you all that we can have one more command which is a mirror. So, we will select this and then go to the mirror, from here to here, and then enter. So, you can see that the door is now available. Then we will directly place this. Okay? (22 sec pause, cursor moving) (33:21)
So, this is now placed. Now we will place this door here also..Its position is also like a door only that the opening of the door is towards the inside. So, what we will do is that we will copy this only. From here I have copied this and moved it here. Then we will go here, we will move this a little. But first, we can make a line here, from here to here. Then we will select this, then move it, from here to here. That is if you prepare or draw an extra line then you’re drawing and the movement you want to do with it, that will be done easily, So, that you will get a reference point and you can change according to your requirement. Okay? So, we need to put one more door here, and this door is opening towards the inside and its size is exactly this size. So, we will mirror this. From here to here and then enter. Then select it, then we will move this, from here to here. (11 sec pause) So, here you can see that the placing of the door is finished. Now we will do the placing of the windows. Either we can prepare the window line this or we can place the direct windows that are available with us. So, suppose I want to use this window and the size, so, you can see that we set the window up to 5 inches only and our requirement is 9 inches. So, for that, we will prepare a line, then offset 2 feet from here, sorry, We will use offset from here to here, and from here to here. Then another line (30 sec pause, cursor moving) “O” + “Enter”, 2 feet and enter, “L” + “Enter” and from here till here is the line. Or we can make like this, 9 inches… then offset, 2 feet and enter…on this side and this side. Then “L” + “Enter”....Then we will take its offset as well, “O” +
“Enter”. Then we will trim the extra lines…You can see that our window is prepared. So, we will place this window but for placing, we need a point and that point is the center point. So, for the center point, we will draw a line exactly here. Okay? So, we have got the line. (8 sec pause) “L” + “Enter”.... from here till here and then enter…Then I can make this a block also. Either I can save this as a block or I can directly place this. So, we will copy this, and here is the object then enter, and this is the placing point. So, here it is placed. Okay?
Once again, we will copy this. If we want to do multiple copies then we will go for “M” + “Enter” then select here, and make the ortho off, (22 sec pause) So, we will exactly fix this at the center point…Now what we have to do is that we need to rotate this window. So, we will copy this, or we can move this. So, here we have moved it and we will rotate this. So, we will enter the “F8” and then select it and then copy it, and for multiple copies, we will “M” + “Enter”. Okay? (30 sec pause) Now what we have to do is that here we need to make an extra line. Okay? Then we will move this exactly to its position… So, like this, we have got its center and here also we will do this like I have selected this and then move it.
Here is our Reference Point , and from here to here, it has been placed, now we will reduce it a bit because now what is to provide is Ventilation. so for Ventilation the offset that is here. for offset, first I gave of 2 now I will give of 1feet enter, O enter 1 feet Enter from here to here… okay… now I will trim these extra lines, okay, (15 sec pause) “TR” space e, here it goes, now we will copy, here we select our object…and here is our placing now we rotate, will ON if such that the rotation exactly happens from the direction that we want…, okay , here is our placing, now from here we can remove all these things, now what we have to do is, we have to provide this staircase , so for staircase also we have detailing available, within detailing we have been told that the size of thread is 10 inch and the riser is of 8 and 1 half 2 inch so how do we calculate this? For calculation what we do is from zero level we start which means the elevation is here, so you can see within elevation from here to here, the difference ,that means the spacing or the height we need to divide it within the number of stairs so how is it possible ? We will have to fix, as per I standard, how much riser do we need, so as many risers we take that numbers or digits we need to divide it by the height available.
so if we divide so you will get to know that you will have some numbers , 14, 15,13 so as per the size within the stairs you will the risers like here we have,1,2,3,4,5 which means up to 5 i will reach ,the landing then 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,that means a total of 14 risers are there ,and with those 14 risers along with that with ground level we will reach the 1st level easily, so here the arrangements that i have made is something in the L shape arranges ,like here the 4 steps then there is a landing and after that there are the remaining 9 steps ,okay. so here the width of this stair is 3 feet ,okay, so we will make it ,for that what it will do is firstly i will enter L enter then how much do we need? 3 feet enter ,so here it has been created so first of all i will offset O enter 3 feet enter from here to here ,one more line have to make L enter form here to here ,now what I have to do is I have to take the offset and that should be 10 ,10 because i have the thread of 10 inch so now i will enter o enter and 10 enter so 1,2,3, and 4 and here also…3,4 ,5,6,7,8, and 9. now I have to enter “L” enter from here to here so line is enter or i will simply press enter so it has been prepared. now within that the centre line that we created we will also make that , for that we will enter “L” enter from here to here and we will extend this line a bit. then EX enter ,which line? this line then we will trim it and we can join these both lines by J enter. (48:04)
Now what I have to do that this staircase exactly beside that we have a window , our arrangement has been a bit wrong so what we will do is , we will move ,okay, for moving we can use this, okay, so something like we can change its setting or customization. one more thing, the window that we have provided, that also we will provide it here so for that also we will draw a line exactly here ,we will offset it 1 feet enter from here to here. Okay? Then we will trim the extra portions and this portion as well… Then we will make another line, from here to here. Then we will offset it and remove this centerline. Okay? So, here you can see that we have provided the window. Here there was no window but if you want to keep then you can. You can do the placing according to your requirement. If I want to remove this then I can also do that. Okay? (7 sec pause) Then remove all the extra lines which we made. (18 sec pause)
Okay, so you can see that the plan is ready, okay…one more window is pending to be placed, will copy this window, okay, (17 sec pause) so this placing is also done. Now you can see that this drawing, within which I have inserted all these things that have been inserted in different colours which means here I have as you can see the drawings or the utilities I have used have been made in different colours that mean has been made in different layers, so we can create here layers also for creating layers we will go to Layer properties then from here we will add different layers here like, first is 1 dot walls or wall.
Then its colour, we will select Red or from here directly Red and, okay, one more layer we will add and we make it 2.0 and that will be Doors.. and Windows and its colour would be Green colour okay, one more we will insert and that will be 3.0 and Hatch enter for Hatching we will set colour this one, cyan (sa-yan),one more layer will insert and name TEXT and keep it in White colour only, one more we will choose for Chhaja(5 sec pause) and its colour we will set a bit yellowish.
one more we'll go to the property and we will again make number 5…for the staircase and its colour we will set something like this colour and we will rename this Chhajja as 6.0. so you can see we have inserted different layers now you will select all these Walls (10 sec pause) ,this you can do before as well just when you start drawing or prior to making of drawing whatever walls you are making or preparing, make it within layers only so here many options are available with us you can do changes before also and after that as well.
or you have to insert any object after and you have to copy in any layer you can use layer image as well… so here I have selected all the walls and then we will do wall so you can see that these walls… have been converted into a specific colour okay? (7 sec pause). then we will select all these doors and windows (9 sec pause). so either you select it one after the other or directly from here you lock the wall so as you will select it then the changes will be made to , let's freeze this, so now whenever you will select doors and windows or all other things that only will be selected…,okay, and you make it doors and windows, okay, now one more time turn it unlock and unfreeze ,okay?
so like this you can make changes and then these staircase portion, we will change it in layer which is of stair layer ,this is our wall and we will convert this wall in layer…okay, so something like this you can insert it ,then, one more thing is there like these lines ,the lines that are available here i have to make it dotted ,so we will see that also when we will, when we will make terrace plan here ,so how we do that we will see that also ,so first of all what we do is we insert Text…and for inserting Text we will type MT Enter. so as and when we will type MT Enter, we can see the space is available with us and here we will write… Room 1 ,enter. then its size is X or X feet X inch into Y feet Y inch enter. Then its type that means in which type I want is so i can change and keep it in Times New Roman. alright? then it size we will keep 9 inch and this line is fit (35 sec pause, command on screen)
Now you can see this is almost the size a bit smaller than we want so what you can do is we will select this and 12 inch ,okay, now what we will do is copy it and this is the basepoint ,we will turn off the Ortho and here it is copied. but this is only single time copied ,if we want to do multi copies then we will enter CO , then we will go to M enter…,okay, so something like this we can copy this (12 sec pause) okay, so if we want to reduce the size ,that also we can do ,so firstly here i will insert the pending requirements okay, so this bedroom 1 bedroom 2, kitchen so i will change all these names.
we will continue further in the next video, so see you next time!
Thank you.
