Hello friends.
Welcome to Learn Vern.
I am (name) and I Welcome you all to today’s video.
In the last video, we did some drawing practice -1.
In today’s video, we will practice a few more drawings with drawing practice part 2.
As you all can see, in this video I have prepared a few complicated drawings where I have used a few commands to make these drawings. With those commands, we can prepare this type of complicated drawings. In the last video, we practiced some simple basic drawings, and in this video, we will practice a bit of complicated and hard examples. So come let us look at all the drawings one by one.
So the first shape that I have here is something like a staircase and we have all the dimensions here. This vertical dimension is 60 meters, the horizontal dimension is 100 meters, the vertical distance of this line is 10 meters,.. the horizontal distance of this line is 12 meters which means the dimension of these steps is 12 by 10, and the dimension of this landing is 40 meters. So let's have a look at how we can prepare this shape?
To prepare this shape, I will start from a corner, I will start my drawing from here, so this dimension is 60, I will insert 60 and press enter, then this side it is 40, so 40 and enter then downside it is 10, so 10 and enter… We will draw again. So line command, then here 60, enter. Then this side 40, enter. Then downwards 10, enter. Then this side is 12, enter. Then again 10 downsides and enter.. Then the landing 12, enter. So in this way, I can prepare this drawing. And we have one more option here where I can draw this line first, how much is this line? is 100 and enter. After that, I can copy this component which means if I copy this.. shape by typing CO and enter, from where will i copy? I will copy from this point, so I am copying this and I will insert it here. Then I will copy the same object again with this base point and place here. Okay. One more time CO, enter the basepoint and I will click here. Now I want to make a line, so I will select the line command and connect this from here. Okay. So we can draw this shape using several different commands. So while moving forward, we will learn to use different commands directly to prepare our drawing very easily. Okay. As you all are in the learning phase, you can simply use these basic commands. As you keep on practicing, there are many commands and shortcut keys that can be used to prepare your drawing easily in very little time.
Now we will check the dimension as well…. I am pressing enter.. again and again so that I can use the last command again which is dimension. Okay. So as I keep pressing enter, the last command will turn ON automatically. Okay. So here my drawing is ready.
Now let's have a look at the second drawing. This looks like a structure of brick missionary and here the offset or this distance is 20, this full distance is 100, this vertical distance is 60 meters and this initial distance here is 10. So come let us see how we can make this drawing.
So here I can use the rectangle command or line command to draw a shape. Let's see how. So if I use the line command, I want this line as 100 and enter. Then this line should be 60, enter. Then again 100, enter. And upside 60 and enter. So I can draw like this. Or I can also use the rectangle command. So here I will specify a point, then I have to insert the X and Y dimension. So the X dimension is 100 and for Y I will insert a comma and 60 and enter. So you can see here that the shape is drawn in the same way as with the line command.
So we will move this a bit. Now I want to draw the lines inside. So first of all I will draw a centerline. why? Because the dimension of this full line is 60. So this line will be drawn exactly at the offset distance of 10. If I don’t have any specific point here, I can extend this line as well. Then I will use the trim command that is TR and enter twice and delete. Okay. Then we will offset this line. why? Because the offset distance here is 10. So to offset this, I will move this 10 aside so that you can see, to offset I will type O and press enter or space. How much offset do we want? I want the offset 10. So 10, enter. As soon as I click here, this is done. Then click again this side and this side and it's done. Okay. Now I want to draw the cuts or the arrangement of these lines. First of all, if I select this line and offset, the whole rectangle will be selected because I have used the rectangle command to draw it and not the line command. Even if I would have drawn with a line, the offset would still apply to the whole line. So first of all I want a line so I will insert L and enter then I have drawn a line here. Okay. Now you can select this line and I want to offset this. So I will insert O and enter. How much distance do I want? I want the distance to be 20 and enter (6 seconds) Okay. Now I will use the same line for the arrangement of the line below. So I will move it from here to here. so that line is available here, now I want the offset 10. So O, enter, then 10, enter. Now I want the offset as 20. So again O, enter, then 20, enter. (7 seconds gap) So in this way you can draw the whole object.
One more thing. As you can see here, the arrangement of the remaining 4 lines is the same as the first two lines. I will not offset this again, but I will select these lines and along with selecting, copy it with a specific basepoint and insert, it will be drawn easily. So here you can see, when I am selecting the line, the horizontal line is also selected, but I only need these vertical lines. So here I will select these lines in this manner. Okay. So after selecting it in this manner, I will use the copy command. So I will copy it from where? here and insert it where? here. One more time, I will copy this line and this line and press enter and from where will i copy? from here and insert here. You can see here that the shape is drawn exactly as shown above. Let us check the dimension here too. (12 seconds gap) By pressing enter after selecting the command once, the last command will turn on. Okay… So we prepared this shape.
11:08
Now here we have one more drawing where the.. offset distance is 10. This means I have prepared a rectangle first which is 80 by 80 and then I have prepared a few offsets of 10 meters each. And we have more offset here whose dimension is 1 meter. Okay. So in this way, we will draw this shape.
I hope you are able to understand.
So come let's draw a rectangle first. I can either use the rectangle command or I can draw with the line command as well. When we use the rectangle command we have an advantage that when we use the offset command and select any point of the rectangle, the offset will be applied to the whole rectangle. If I want to draw a rectangle with a line command and offset that, I will have to select all 4 lines separately. So here I will use the rectangle command… It is 80 by 80, so I will insert 80 comma 80. Okay. As soon as you insert a comma you will switch to Y coordinate and then press enter. So here your rectangle is prepared. Now we want to use the offset, so O and enter, then 10, enter. Again enter. Then again, then again. Now the last offset is 1. So O, enter, 1 enter. So it is outside. Okay. So I can prepare this drawing in this manner where the dimension is 80 by 80 and the distance of the offset is 10 meters. Okay, then I will insert the inner lines. For that I will select the line command,... I will press enter and again I will be into the line command. Okay. (30 seconds gap) So in this way, I can prepare this drawing.

Now I have prepared 2 polygons. We learned how to make polygons in the video of polygon earlier. We can draw a polygon in 2 ways, one inside the circle and one outside the circle where the radius of the circle is fixed, and then as per our command, the polygon will be prepared. Come let's see how. So here the radius of the circle is 40 meters, so first of all I will draw a circle where I will specify a center point. So I will select this center point and the radius is 40, so 40 and enter. Okay. Then I want to draw a polygon. So I will click on the polygon command or I can type P O L and press enter then I have to specify a center point but before that, I have to specify the number of sides. Here you can see there are 6 sides. If I need 5 sides, I will enter 5 sides. so I will insert ‘N’ number of sides as per my requirement. Right now I require 6, so 6 and enter then I have to specify a center. As we already have a circle, we have a CenterPoint as well. So this is my center, then here I have 2 options, to draw a polygon inside the circle or outside. I want to draw inside so I will select the first option that is ‘inscribed in a circle’, then here we have to specify the radius, so 40 and enter. You can see here the polygon is prepared, where the radius is 40. Okay.
16:22
Now, let's draw it once again with the second option. So I will draw a circle again. Then I will specify a center point then radius of 40 and enter. Okay. I will click on the polygon command again. Last time we used the shortcut key and this time we will use the command available in the drawing tool. How many sides do we want? I want 6 sides, so 6 and enter. Then I have to specify a center. Suppose if you forget to insert any value in the command while working in Autocad, then here at the bottom in the command line It will show all the things that we have to specify first like as i said how many sides do we need? number of sides, for radius, it will ask you how many radii (pronounce:- ray dee aai) you want to give. then if you forget to select a center, here you will be asked to specify the center first.
Here I am selecting this center, then I have to select an option. This time I want to draw a polygon outside the circle, so I will click on ‘circumscribed about circle’. Then I will insert the radius, so how much? 40, and enter. The polygon will be drawn exactly outside the circle here which means the lines will touch the surface of the circle. Okay. We will check the radius again. Okay, so the radius is 40.
Right now I have many drawings here. As we learned in the last video, if I want all the drawings to be visible on a single screen, I will insert the command zoom all. So for that, I will insert Z, enter, A, enter. So as you can see all the drawings are visible here.
In the next video, we will learn about layers and working with layers where we will use different commands and their shortcuts.
I hope you all will practice this. During your practice,If you have any queries or comments, click the discussion button below the video and post there. This way, you will be able to connect to fellow learners and discuss the course. Also, Our Team will try to solve your query.
