Hello friends.
Welcome to Learn Vern.
I am (name) and I Welcome you all to today’s video.
In the last video, we learned about multilines.
In today’s video, we will learn about group and ungroup.
So as you can see, I already have drawings available here.
So first of all let's understand what a group is. Group means suppose I have a specific figure available here like this one in the window and if I want to move this, I will have to select it in a precise manner, then I will click on move command and with it, I can easily move this figure. Okay. So you can see here that I am able to move it and place it wherever I want.
So now what is a group? Suppose I have many more drawings here like this and I want to make that drawing as a unit which means the drawings are separate right now, for example when I am selecting the drawings here, they are selected separately as a single unit and if I want to select all the drawings then I have to select it precisely and it should fit in the window. Now if I enter the group command on this object, then this object will become one unit. To use the group command I will type G and press enter and now I have to select this object and press enter. Now you can see that I can select the whole object and not the single line or the circle and move easily. Okay..
Let us have one more look. So I have 4 circles here and I want to move these 4 circles, so now I have to select all the 4 circles in a selection window in such a way that all the 4 circles are entirely inserted in it. And then I will use the move command and I can move this object. But if we type G and press enter and then we select all the 4 circles here and press enter, here a single circle is not selected but the whole object is selected.
So first of all let's have a look at where we can use the group command. The drawing that is available for now is very small, but if I have a layout available which will have for example 2BHK or 3 BHK or any building plan and I want to insert the furniture in it, for it, there will be a specific customized drawing and when I move or rotate that drawing or make any modifications like using scale or stretch command, I have to select the object very carefully and precisely. This means that if I want to modify any element for example I have a bed in the furniture there and I want to modify it, I will have to select all the elements of the bed in such a way that the other elements around it should not be selected which means I have to work very accurately.
So if I select that furniture or the bed and insert the group command, the whole bed will be selected whenever I will click even at the corner of the bed and we can avoid any disturbance or selection of other objects with the help of this command. ok?
So as you can see, we prepared a group here and the whole group was selected and moved.
Let's have a look again. Suppose here I have an object that consists of a rectangle and a circle that is inserted in it okay. So now I want to move this object or make it smaller or bigger or make any modification with this.
So if I select it like this, you can see that only the rectangle is selected. And if I select like this, then the circle is only selected. This means that I have to select these objects in such a way that it is fully inserted into the selection window like this or like this. So, in the window, if I type G and enter and select this object and enter again. So now if I click here then also the whole object is selected and if I click here then also the whole object is selected and if i click here then also the object will be selected which means this has become a unit. So we will have many nuclear units, and if we want to join them as a single unit or a group, we can do that with the help of the group command. Okay.
So we can also ungroup this. To ungroup I will type UNG and press enter and then I will select, as you can see when I click here only the rectangle is selected or only the circle.
Hope you are able to understand me.
Let's try on this object too. So when I am clicking here, all 4 circles are selected right now. To ungroup this I will type UNG which is a shortcut key and press enter and now when I select this object or this object, it has again become a single unit. So this was in a group and we ungrouped this object.
So in this way, we can either join any object or unjoin, that is ungroup any object together. ok?
So in this video today we learned about group and ungroup.
In the next video, we will learn about the text window, expert mode, and calculator.
So I hope you all will practice how we can use group and ungroup. During your practice, If you have any queries or comments, click the discussion button below the video and post there. This way, you will be able to connect to fellow learners and discuss the course. Also, Our Team will try to solve your query.
Thank you.
