TOPIC:Project Elevation
Hello friends!
Welcome to Learnvern.
This side is (name) and I welcome you all to today’s video. In the last video, we learned about the plan for a 2BHK residential building, in which we made a plan. In today’s video, we learn about how to make an elevation of the same plan. So, let’s start today’s video.
As you all can see that this plan is already available here. Now what we are going to do is that we are going to make an elevation of this plan only. That is if we stand in front of this building then what type of view it will be, so we can see the view somewhat like this. But today in AutoCAD, technically which means with dimensions we are going to insert all those things here which are exactly available in the residential building. Okay? So, for that what exactly we have to do is, we need to take the reference lines of these lines. Okay? So, for that also we will use different commands and with those commands we will be able to prepare this whole elevation. So, let’s start with how to prepare an elevation.
1:27
So, like I have told you all I need to draw these reference lines from bottom to top. So, what we will do is that in AutoCAD, we learned something about a line which was a ray. So, here we will make a ray, “RAY” and enter, and from here to the top is the ray. Okay? So, like this, we can stretch any line’s reference to the end dimension with a ray. Okay? Once again, we will use ray, from here to here. Okay? Then in elevation we will look for what we can see in the front side and according to that, we will draw everything towards us. Okay?... So, first, we will see here that the stairs here were 5 feet. Okay? So, first what we will do is that we will stretch this a little bit and we will use stretch and enter, from here to here. Okay? So, we want to stretch this and then enter, from here to here. How much stretch do we need to do is “2” …? So, here we will do “2 Feet” and then enter. Okay? So, a line is available for us over here. Then what we can do is… “L” + “Enter” and from here to here and delete this line, then use trim, here and here…. Okay? And then, with match property.
So, this is the staircase. Then we will make this line a ray for reference, so, for that “RAY” + “Enter” and then from here to up Okay? Then from here also, enter, from here to up Okay? Then from here also “RAY” + “Enter” then these lines also (14 seconds pause) So, you can see that one after the other i am drawing ray upwards which means reference lines of all the points present here. Okay? If I press enter then the last command will be automatically on. Okay? Then, for this balcony too. (25 seconds pause) Okay? Then here almost every line is a ray, that is, we have extended every line from bottom to towards up and took the reference. Now what we will do is that we will draw a line here, like this. Then what we will do here is that we will use trim. Then we will make another line, (12 seconds pause) and then we will trim this, from here to here. Then what we will do is that we will delete each ray we made, and then our plan will be available like it was before. Okay?
6:09
We will use the trim for one more time and delete this portion. Now what we will do is that, levels we need to make above whatever heights, we will make those levels. So, for that, we will first make this of 2 feet which is our “Plinth Level”... So, from here we will take the offset of 2 feet “O” + “Enter” 2 feet and enter, from here to here. Then next are 4.6 which means 4 feet 6 inches. Then from bottom to the top, “O” offset and then 4 feet 6 inches and enter from here to here. Okay? Then whatever we have taken, we have taken zero as a reference hence drawn above zero. Then 7 feet,(10 seconds pause) so, these 7 feet will be from here, from level 2. So, we will do the 7 feet from here. So, if we total then it is 9 feet. So, offset “O” + “Enter” 9 feet enter, from here to here. Okay? Then there are 10 feet, so, 10 feet is from here and we total it then it is 12. Okay? “O” + “Enter” 12 feet and enter, from here to here. Okay? Then there is 10, 6, so, from here also we can take “O” + “Enter” 6 enter, like this. Then next is 19, 6. So, here also we can take directly “O”’ + “Enter” 9 feet enter,... from here to here. Now what we will do is that we will trim the above line, like this. Okay? So, we can trim this portion also. Okay? Then what we have to do is that we need to make these steps here. Okay? (30 seconds pause) We will do “TR” + “Double Space”,... and then remove these from here. Then draw a line over here “L” + “Enter”. Then we will divide this and the riser we took of this is 8 feet…. Okay? So, this is 2 feet that are 12 x 2 which is 24. So, here will be three steps of 8. So, we will take offset “O” + “Enter” 8 enter, from here to here and from here to here. Okay? So, our first step is completed. The next step is to make this door. Okay? So, we will make this so, for the door we will first trim the extra lines here. We will trim this also.
10:27
Then from here we will take offset and take the ray of the door from the bottom. So, for ray “RAY” + “Enter”, from here to here. Okay? (5 seconds gap) Now what we have to do is, the side you can see, we will trim this and we will trim this from above also. Then delete this portion and delete this portion as well. So, this is also an extra portion and this too, so, whatever the extra portions are, you just need to delete them. Okay? Like this. Then we will take an offset of 2,... like this. (8 seconds pause) So, our door is also ready. Now we have to make these windows. Okay? So, for the window from here to here. Okay? The window which was available,... that with this line and this here. Okay? (25 seconds pause, drawing) So, whatever extra lines you see, you just need to delete them. Then we will take another offset here, “O” + “Enter”, 2 enter ok?... or we can take from the bottom also “O” + “Enter” 2 enter, from here to here… and from here to here.ok? (14 seconds pause, drawing) Then we will offset “O” + “Enter” 2 enter from here towards the inside. (55 seconds pause, drawing) So, here you can see that the maximum commands we are using are line and trim commands. So, with this line and trim commands, you can easily make a whole drawing. (10 seconds pause) Okay? So, this is also ready. Now what we have to do is that we need to make this railing. So, for making that, or we can do this thing first where we will delete all the extra lines. Okay? Because in elevation you can only see a single line. Okay?(12 seconds pause) So, this is ready like this. Now what we will do is, as you can see a balcony on the outer side, we will draw this balcony / Chhaja. So, for making that we will “L” + “Enter”, then take the tracing point, from here. balcony of - 6, from bottom side - 2 and inner side - 6. Okay? So, this Chhaja is made here. We can trim this also. (7 seconds pause) Then we will make Chhaja this side also, for making that we will “L” + “Enter”, then take the tracing point, from here. Chhaja of 6, from bottom 2 and inside 6. So, these chhajas are also prepared. Now we will make this chhajjas here. So the door which we made available, from here exactly 7 feet because the door’s height is 7 or 7.5. So, offset “O” + “Enter” 7 feet 3 inches enter,... from here to up. Okay, we will “L” + “Enter”, then take the tracing point, from here. Chhaja of 6, from bottom 2 and inside 6. So, our sunshade is ready. Okay? Now we have to make a railing. So, for the railing, we can fix the height. For example, the railing of 3-foot, 2.5 feet, So, we can do that according to ourselves, if it is not given in the drawing. So, here we are taking 2 feet 6 inches… and then enter, from here to here. Then we will make a line here or we can extend this also “EX” + “Enter” and we want to extend this till here and enter. Okay? So, you all can use this command as well….. Then we have to take an offset here “O” + “Enter” 2 enter towards the inside. Okay?(11 seconds pause) Then we have to delete the extra lines so, “TR’.(45 seconds pause, drawing) We need to extend this line “EX” + “Enter”, till here and this is extended. So, now we have to prepare the design of the railing. So, for that we will see, how much dimension is this.
18:45 (10 seconds pause)
So, the exact dimension is 27 feet and 8 inches, and suppose the gaps in between these dimensions are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Okay? So, how much will we take here? (6 seconds gap, calculating) That is almost 2 and a half. So, if we take 2 and a half then let’s see what we can do. Offset “O” + “Enter” 2 feet and 6 inches enter…, from here to here.(10 seconds pause) One more thing, if we want to take offset here, here will be 2 feet 6 inches and enter. Okay? We can do multiple. (8 seconds pause) So, we have almost got this exactly similar. Now what we will do is we will prepare one and then copy all of the offsets. Okay? So, let’s make it here. (8 seconds pause) We will make a circle.(14 seconds pause) Then we will trim this. (14 seconds pause) Then this portion is deleted. Then what we will do is we offset this. “O” + “Enter” let’s take one’s offset, towards the inside. Okay?(9 seconds pause) If we want to change the design then we can also do that. We can do some modifications to this design. So, for modification firstly we will make a circle here… Like this. Okay? Then we will copy this whole object, this is our base point, then if we want to do multiple copies so, “M” + “Enter” and then we will place this at their exact center point. Okay? So, before that, first we need to make a line over here and then copy this line and this is copied. And here “M” + “Enter” (15 seconds pause) we are copying this because this line will provide us the exact center point of it as a reference. Okay? (15 seconds pause)Then here we will copy this whole object, for multiple copies “M” + “Enter”, and then place them here… Okay? So, this depends on you on which design you want to make, with which design you want to work. And according to yourselves, you can modify any design. For that, the basic tools are array, line, circle, and there are four methods in the array, these all can be used by you all.
23:38
With these, you can make any drawing properly. Okay? So, like this, we have prepared this as well. Now our next point is to do hatching here. So, for hatching we will “HA” okay and go to the hatch then we need to select which hatch we want to provide. So, first at the bottom, we will provide the hatching. We will provide bricks here and here… So, we will make its scaling a little bigger and 10 enter. Okay? We will make it bigger a little more, 15 enter and enter. So, this is done on the plinth. Then we will do the hatching in a slab. So, we will select this hatching site and(8 seconds pause) this is selected. Okay? We will make the scaling a little less. Okay? So, we can change its color also or we can do “Match Property”. (10 seconds pause) We will choose this color. Okay? So, here you can see that your elevation is also prepared and from here we just need to give dimension. So, here you can directly use this dimension tool and one by one you can insert the dimension you want. (20 seconds pause)So, here I will show that one by one by inserting all of the dimensions.(4 seconds pause) So, here you can see that I have inserted all dimensions and with that, the stair room, slap top, slab level, lintel level, that is I have renamed all of the levels also. Now suppose you want to insert these things that i have written in layers, so select here, then select the text, then these all texts will be inserted in the text. Okay?
So, today we prepared an elevation where we used a lot of commands. Mainly were trim and line. So, with these two commands, you can make a whole elevation.
So, I hope whatever we learned today was understandable and you all will practice it and while practicing if you face any difficulties or If you have any queries or comments, click the discussion button below the video and post there. This way, you will be able to connect to fellow learners and discuss the course. Also, Our Team will try to solve your query.
So, in the next video, we will learn about the 2BHK building section, which means we will learn to make sections of the plan and elevation of a building that we made today.
Thank You.
