TOPIC: How to Insert Dynamic-Window and How to Customized It
Hello Friends
Welcome to Learn Vern
I am (name) and I welcome you all to today’s video. So, in the last video, we learned about Dynamic objects where we made doors with dynamic objects. Today, we will learn about the Dynamic object of windows. I also told you all in the last video that there is a normal window and a dynamic window that is there is a normal object and a dynamic object. So, we will all learn about what a dynamic window is and how to insert it. So, let’s start today’s video.
So, here you can see that I have kept two options over here, one is a normal window and the other one is a dynamic window. So, what is a normal window? Suppose according to my requirement, I want a window on the wall that will be a normal object. That is, the object I made here is made of three different objects. That is, I have taken two lines like this and then connected this line. Either I can draw this like this or I can convert this into a block, after converting this into a block then I can use it in another drawing, or I can convert it into Write Block as we have learned in the previous videos like how to make a write block. So, if I save this into a write block then I can use it anywhere. That is if I require that I want to stretch this line so, suppose if the wall thickness is 6 inches or 4 inches. So, if I want to do some changes according to it then I can’t do it directly. So, if I want to do some changes according to the parameter then we cannot do it directly. That is that I have to use two to three commands, and need to do repetition. After that whatever thing is there, will be applied. Then the length, if I want to vary this length like I want 2 foot or 3 foot or 4 feet so, whatever my requirements are, I need to precisely do all of the changes.
So, we have another facility available that is Dynamic-Window. So, the window I have made over here is dynamic. So, as everyone knows in Doors, I will select the windows. So, here the arrows or the parameters will be available. That is with this I can do different actions. So, I want to change the dimensions right now like this: 4 feet and then 3.5 foot, then 3-foot, 2.5-foot, 2 feet and then 1 foot. So, according to my requirement, the max is 5 feet. I can put the parameters or the limitations according to it. So, if I want to flip it then I can also do that. So, I will move it. Okay? So, I have selected this… Now, I want to move this. So, in whatever direction I want with the help of one click it will move. There’s one more thing, I have given vertical parameters also. Like right now the thickness of the wall is 6. So, if I want it to be 4 or 5, anything that is related to my requirement, I can do that and it will also be applied over here.
So, these are the facilities and advantages when we work in AutoCAD when we use Dynamic-Window. So, now the next question is, how can we make a dynamic window? So, for making the dynamic object, firstly I will copy this object. So, here I have copied it. Then for once again, I will explode it…So, now you can see that the things over here are now different. Now I need to make a block. Like “B” + “Enter” then I need to select the pick point, so, here I have selected the pick point. Then I need to select the object so, here I have selected it and then “Enter”. Then I need to rename it and it will be “W1”. Now if I directly want to open the block editor, then I can do the selection over here and if not, then off. So, right now I want that whatever the block is made, should be opened directly to the block editor.
So, here I will select “Okay”. So, this dimension… but before that, we will remove all this…So, right now I need to give different parameters. So, I require that whatever changes I will apply in the length, should be applied here as well. So, if I want to make some changes to this length, those changes should be applied to windows. That is, first I will set the parameter here. So, whatever changes I need are linear, and this is my linear parameter. Its name is distance 1. Now, what will I do as you can see that after selecting it, you can see that there is a yellow box showing which means that I have not used any type of actions over here? So, our next step is actions. Action that is if I want this object to be stretched then from here also it should be stretched. So, after selecting on stretch, I need to specify which parameter I am using and right now I have only one parameter which is distance 1. Then I need to specify where I need to stretch the line. So, this is my first point.
So, now I need to make a frame that is from here to here, and then I need to select the object from this frame, which objects I need to be stretched. So, like this, I will select and then “Enter”. Now what will we do if I want this distance to be in one direction, so, here I will keep only one arrow so, for that, I will right-click on it and then go to properties, and down below, I will change the number of grips into 2. Okay, so, I can keep 2 also., I can do anything according to my requirement. Then the stretch we applied; we will go to the test block to see. Then select it, and then you can see that the arrow is available upon it. You can see that the stretching is happening over here…So, you can see that this line is exactly in the center. Okay? One more thing like first we will close from here, then the distance, we will go to properties, and if I want to set the parameter upon it then I can.
So, here if I want to set the value then it will be “List”, then according to my requirement, I will click here. I can change the 6 inches into 4 inches and then add. Then my requirement is 1 then add. Then 2 and add and then 3 inches and add and 5 inches and add. (14 sec pause) So, now I will go to the test block once again. Then I will select this. So, now you can see that… I will zoom in to show you all, you can see that the modification happening here, the parameter is available only till there. So, if I want to go above 6 inches then you can see that the line is not going above that. Either it will go to 6 or 5 or 4 or 3 that is the parameters I have set here; it will go according to that. Then I will close here. So, this was the change in vertical movement. There’s one more thing, if I select this… if I select the distance, and then right-click, and then properties and then go down and change the number into 1. Okay?
And then close it so, then you can see that the yellow box is also removed. So, this was the first thing. Second thing is that, if I want to flip its movement or horizontal direction, so, how will I do that? So, for that I will go to parameter, then to flip, like this. And then set it here. This is the base point. So, this was the flipping in the vertical direction. There is one more thing that if I insert flip over here then and insert this flip like this then, so, for that “F8” then I need to select it from where I need to flip. So, here I have selected it. And here it is flipped. So, here I need to give Action and choose flip from that. Then I need to select the object so I have selected it. And then enter. So, I will go to the test block once again. Then select upon it, you can see that the window is exactly flipping on the point I have selected. Okay?... Then from here, I have closed it. And if I want to save this then I will go here and then “Save changes”. So, my dynamic window is ready. According to my requirement, I have given the changes. You can see that the parameter is also showing. Okay?
So, in today’s video, we learned about Dynamic objects where we made windows. So, I hope you all will practice it like you will make windows in different sizes and insert different parameters like a linear parameter/action or flip parameter/action and If you have any queries or comments, click the discussion button below the video and post there. This way, you will be able to connect to fellow learners and discuss the course. Also, Our Team will try to solve your query.
In the next video, we will learn about Dynamic objects – Cars. Okay?
Thank You.
