FAQs

The Internet Archive Wayback Machine is a tool that allows users to view older versions of websites. Visitors to the Wayback Machine can put in a URL, choose a date period, and then browse an archived version of the Internet.

The Wayback CDX Server API from the Internet Archive has a "prefix" search feature that helps us find deep links. However, because to Instagram's URL structure, we can't use the "prefix" search to identify deep connections to mementos, whereas we can use it to find deep links to Facebook and Twitter posts.

Why is the Wayback Machine so slow? It's a combination of several elements, to be sure. The saved websites must be tracked down to the server set that has them, and the webpage must then be unpacked from compressed datasets and presented for you.

In your Chrome browser, install the Wayback Machine extension. Select Save Page Now from the icon in your toolbar when you're on a page you want to archive. We'll store the page and provide you with a permanent link.

Simply open a new notepad file from your PC to prevent The Wayback Machine from archiving your website. Now, rename your file "robots" and save it. Make sure the file extension is set to *.
