A file signature is data that is used to identify or verify the contents of a file in computing. The signature can be at the end of the document or in a separate document.
A signature file is a file that contains signature values for use in signature-based virus detection. The signature file approach competes with the inverted index method to produce query results in document retrieval.
Place the cursor where you want the line to appear.
Select Signature Line from the Insert menu.
Select Microsoft Office Signature Line from the drop-down menu.
You can type a name in the Suggested signerbox in the Signature Setup field.
Click the OK button.
We all agree that the file signature evidence is a great tool for investigating a crime. In fact, some countries have adopted laws mandating that the file signature evidence be used in investigations. However, we did not think much of it until recently when we learned that the file signature evidence can be used as another tool to investigate a crime (or at least, they can be seen as one of them).
