Hello Friends, my name is Chetan Panchal. We are going to learn about CorelDraw. But before we start learning about CorelDraw, we must have theoretical knowledge and basic understanding.
First, let's learn about, what is Graphic Design? Because CorelDraw is also a software of Graphic Design. Ok! So we need to understand overall what Graphic Design is. Ok! Most of us know what Graphic Design is. However, most people have a perception that Graphic Design is all about making any odd color, any odd font or good design. But in actuality, this is not a fact.
Graphic Design is created by very vast and deep thinking with a concept. It is not only about font and colors.
If you make anything colorful, that is not a Design.
OK!
Second thing, Graphic Design is a revolution and solution. If I describe in layman language, in early days when we need to talk to anyone. What we used to do? We are supposed to send a letter, or we go to meet them directly.
But as the revolution came, we invented the telephone. As the revolution came in one thing. The Graphic Design is the same, gradually revolution came to represent anything and likewise Graphic Design started upgrading.
If we describe Graphic Design in decent language, that's “Visual communication”.
What do you mean by “Visual communication”? You can interact with anything. You can understand things by just seeing. Lots of people know that, we learn more when we see things like good color, good font and a good design. Then we grasp speedily and understand easily. And remember for a long time.
That’s why children's books are colorful and very well designed and not only written simply. Then only children will take interest and read well. Hence for children to remember well and have a good understanding, there are designs and cartoons. And the story is also described with the help of images.
Because of all of these, Graphic Design is very much important in many things.
Second thing, if we learn further about Graphic Design. What is Graphic Design ?
Graphic Design is visual communication. OK!
Now, there are lots of types of Visual communication.
I have mentioned the main types on the screen.
First one is INFOGRAPHICS. Infographics means any information presented in any form in a prescribed way with good alignment and good font. Then you would like to see more.
Second one is Process Diagrams. Then after, Flow Charts, Roadmaps, Charts and Graphs, Visual reports, Presentation and Mind maps.
These all are small-small parts of Visual communication. Other than this, there are lots of types that come under designing. Any information which needs to be shared with customers or your student or any other relevant person, designed in a very well manner that’s a Visual communication or Graphic Design.
