Career Opportunities in CorelDRAW

Now, everyone has one question in their mind, if we learn something in depth or become pro and progress further. For that, what is the most important thing? First, we have to see a career in that and then only we choose that thing.

If we talk about a Graphic Design career in a simple manner. You understand the first thing, the moment you wake up in morning, you grab your mobile. On mobile, foremost you open Instagram. In Instagram all the posts, photographs and all other things are part of designing.

OK!

Some people think that photographs are not a part of graphic designing. But photographs are also part of designing.

There are some items, which are meant for pleasure and some for interaction or to communicate. Some of them are to convey to customers and make them understand our matter or sell them our product.

Photographs, which are part of art or there is design on curtains. All these sorts of designs are a pleasure.

Whatever you are watching on Instagram, which is creative like there is a post which says 40% sale.

Suppose you go out of your house and find a billboard on a cross road or in any shop. If you go to any café and you see all kinds of designs. These all are part of designing.

Now you can understand, you won't see any things anywhere except design. Everywhere you see, you will find design.

Because before converting to the final product, there is a framework and design. Only then after, we make a product.

Because in the first place, we don’t know how these things will look after finalizing. We can’t take a risk to go for direct production.

For that, we also use Graphic Designer.

If you open any application, there are uses of Graphic Designs. In application you will find illustration, user interface and logo, these all are part of designing.

Now, let’s discuss careers.

Right now, I mentioned only core fields of career. Other than this, there are lots of career options available in designing.

First one is creative director. Then after, industrial designer, Logo Designer, illustration designer, Layout artist and brand manager.

Let’s understand in depth.

“Creative Director”

What do creative directors do?

In any organization. OK! The foremost work of a creative director is how to attract customers and how to generate leads through designing.

They make a concept and handle a team. OK! They ask the team to make various designs in different manners and put those designs on the market or on social media. Then it is printed on a poster. And customers are attracted by all of these.

We also follow the same, whenever we see any poster or any post which suggests 40% sale, we directly go to that application and check it immediately.

This is the work of a creative director.

Those people by advertisement increase the sales and revenue of the organization.

Second one is Industrial Designer.

Industrial designers are also known as product-based designers. His main work is to create a layout of Furniture, Car, Home appliances or toys and make a design of it and represent it in different ways.

If there is any toy or car and suppose the organization wants to modify their car or wants a different design. Then he will create a framework which represents how the car will look after becoming a product or finalization.

Ok!

Then, now comes LOGO DESIGNER.

Lots of people heard about it. Logo Designer. We want to make a logo. Our company has a logo. You heard about logo things many times.

Logo designers are professional graphic designers who create unique and custom brand imagery like anything. If you see the logo of Myntra or logo of Audi or logo of Mercedes. You will find unique things in that.

Logos represent the company’s work; it includes their story as well as their struggle in that. It also represents how a company works and what their services are. After understanding all of that the logo is created.

Everyone knows how the Audi logo was created. Four companies collaborated, then four rings became a logo. Like this, behind every logo there is some reason and concept.

Then it comes, Illustration design!!

Where is Illustration design majorly used?

Illustration design is majorly used in websites. Websites like, where there is study related to student or mobile related and in that there are some elements which are to be recreated, That’s also the part of illustration.

Children’s books, Magazines, Medical manuals, websites, technical designs and advertisement etc. are all covered in Illustration design.

There are various types in illustration design.

Even making an element of Logo is considered as illustration.

Now comes Layout Artist.

Normally, whatever you see on screen, website, mobile application or any advertisement on television, posters, magazine, their layouts are formed to determine how much space, what fonts to be used, how many colors will be used and how theme is to be developed.

We can take it based on the theme also. They are theme artists. OK! This was all about Layout artists.

Thereafter comes The Brand Manager.

Brand manager’s work is very responsible. Their work is mainly to make available the services, products etc. to the customers. How to take care of the Brand, how to improve its services or attract customers as much as possible. This is the work of Brand Manager

These are the career options.

And to make these career, we need some softwares

The main part of Graphic Design is that there are only these four softwares.

For example, there are many fields in which you need to upgrade something like changing the softwares, or when you change the company, or you go abroad, or change the state. Then you have to spend time on learning something new but such changes are not required in Graphic Designing.

Here, since the beginning these are four softwares and only these are used.

Whether you work here or in any corner of the world, you have to work only on these four softwares.

Ninety percent of companies work only on these four softwares.

There are few companies, who have their own customized softwares, which are developed by themselves. They don’t rely on any other softwares.

But ninety percent of companies work only on these four softwares.

This is the best way to make your career, wherein you focus on only one thing and learn these four softwares and then make your career in Graphic Designing. So that you don’t need to change or not be required to waste your time in learning something new.

Other benefit in this field is that you will get to do new things, and learn about new things. Everyday for different clients or different designs you will get to learn something new in these softwares.

Because every design’s concept and layout is different. The Requirements of every design are different. The Requirements of the client are different.

To understand them and develop that kind of product is also an art.

OK! And you need to understand this.

First software is photoshop, second is illustrator and Indesign and then CorelDraw.

Our main software is CorelDraw.

Photoshop, illustrator and Indesign, these three softwares are Adobe.

And CorelDraw is an upgraded version of quarkxpress.

CorelDraw is such software in which a lot of work in print media is being done.

And currently all work of social media is being done on CorelDraw.

Now we have to know what the work scope is in CorelDraw. In CorelDraw, what things we can create, what things are possible, that we have to learn.

First Thing is Logo Making.

In the last lecture, you were taught logo designing. So in this, from very basic to very conceptualized logos can be created.

There are many facilities in CorelDraw through which we can design a good logo.

Then after comes Business Stationery.

Many things covered under Business stationery like visiting cards, big hoardings, letterhead, engraving on pens, designs on cups, logo on t-shirt, everything. From canopy to all other stationeries can be created in CorelDraw.

Then after comes Magazine.

You must have read/seen so many Magazines in which there are advertisements. And that whole Magazine can be created in CorelDraw. 

In this there are facilities using which speedy work can be done because there are a lot of shortcut keys available.

Then after comes Newspaper.

There are many designs in newspapers, out of which many designs are made using CorelDraw.

Because Newspaper is a medium of print media. Magazine is also part of print media.

Whatever things there are in print media most of them can be done using CorelDraw.

Then after comes Books Designing.

Whatever books you must have seen, most of them are designed in CorelDraw. Because from its cover page to the last page, its spine and layout from inside etc. are all possible in CorelDraw.

Book Cover Page!!

Cover page is also called the title. From the cover page only we get to know what’s written inside the book and its concept. Hence the cover page is very much important. So, this thing is possible under CorelDraw so that we can make a conceptual cover page.

Illustration Making!!

Illustration can also be made under CorelDraw. Small things like cartoons. OK! Or any such thing about which we want to know how it looks, so that it can be created in CorelDraw.

Calendar making and much more!!

Calendar includes dates, shortcuts and formulas through which we don’t need to do hard work; rather we only need to create a layout and thereafter CorelDraw will adapt automatically.
