Festival Post Creation in CorelDRAW

In the last lecture of CorelDraw which things we have learnt?

We have learnt about stationary designs which includes making letterhead, pasting a logo on pen so basically we learnt about the whole stationary design.

But now we have to learn about how to design for social media.

As everyone knows that social media is such a thing which is spread across the world.

All the industrialists prefer social media.

Social media, Digital marketing which is the most important thing for them?

First is design.

In social media if you want to do business or if you want to make your product famous on social media or if you want to make your product familiar among people and you want to explain about your product to everyone so that people can relate with your product.

For that what will you do?

You will make different designs. Ok.

And you will promote it likewise.

Which things are important for promotion?

Graphic design.

Means whatever designs we make in CorelDraw are very much important for social media.

Whenever you do scrolling and you stop at some point after seeing any post or something so that all credit goes to the designer.

Because he stopped you there.

As he made such attractive designs you had to stop. Ok.

So these things are very important.

Because there are thousands and millions of designs uploaded on the internet everyday.

But some designs make you think that concept is like that.

Because there are some secrets in that it is designed in such a way that everyone( our customer, client & vendors) can relate to it and its content.

This is how they communicate and interact.

So this is a thing which can help us to generate leads, creating traffic on social media.

So what do we have to do first?

We have to focus on good designs.

We cannot make good designs by copying, we have to use rules and tools both to understand it.

So let's go, we will start practical, all of things we understood theoretically.

Now we will see how to design practically on social media.

Pause.

So today’s main topic is festival posts.

The festival post is very much important.

If you have more than 1000 contacts. Ok.

If you want to wish them on every festival very nicely by sending posts with your product.

Then two things will happen.

First, your client will feel special, meaning you wished him purposely and made him feel special.

Second thing.

Your product will also get delivered once.

That will hammer in their mind on every festival that XYZ person does this business and this is their product.

Whenever they are in need, they will recall you first for their product.

Otherwise if someone else needs your product, then he will remember you first, it does not matter how much competition is there.

You constantly and continuously did the hammering to the client through post.

Usually festival posts have value for one day, like Janmashtami.

Janmashtami has one day's value and after that it has no use. OK!

Even though the festival post has a one day value, it is very much important.

Second thing is “Promotional Post Creation”.

Whatever product you have, how we design that, how we make that valuable, we can not make any random post and use tagline there, it won't be considered as perfect design.

We have to conceptualize that and we have to maintain that also.

We have to manage the font as well.

Then after, we can post them.

Promotional posts are very important because they explain your company’s value and product on social media and also explain what we do.

Second, there are some rules and regulations in promotional posts.

Whenever you have to boost them then there is a rule for, and we are going to see that.

That's called the five boxes rule.

We will see that practically once.

After that it comes to the social media cover page for all platforms.

Social media has many platforms, as you all are aware about that.

Facebook, Instagram, twitter, linked in, Pinterest and behance.

All these platforms have cover pages.

Just like you created any page, you have to put content on that page.

You want some content on the cover page or you want to keep an image on that page so that if anyone visits your page, will be able to interact with it or be able to understand what you do.

Second thing.

They stay more on your page or checkout your website.

Check everything on the website and stay there for a little while.

This is very much important.

For Example, we can design social media cover pages.

This is also very much important.

We have lots of platforms and we will see the sizes of different platforms and how we make design on that practically.

There are some examples like Facebook, Instagram, twitter, linked in, Pinterest and behance.

We make cover pages and festival posts on these platforms.

First, we will see the examples of festival posts.

As we created this edutech logo.

I created a small example here with this logo.

Like this we can create a good design, and I also mentioned their tag line “laptop/Desktop repair After that your doorstep” in the bottom and also inserted the contact number there.

I kept a small note of good Friday as well.

When we wish our client for Good Friday, then those clients may bring good business for us.

Whenever their pc or laptop stops working, the first name that comes to their mind is Edutech because they regularly get the festival post from mail.

OK!

Second things is “Happy father’s Day”

I showed a father and his daughter sitting together with a laptop and I quoted our tagline “One stop solution for all your IT needs like father fulfill your all need”.

The father always fulfills the needs of their daughter, same like that Edutech fulfills all the IT needs.

So like this, our content should relate to the product.

Majorly you already have a content letter, whether you are doing a job or business, you can take any content from the internet but only take care of copyright issues.

We can make Happy Father’s Day posts like this.

We can mention the Laptop/Desktop repairing After that your doorstep.

After that, comes “Ganesh Chaturthi”.

I kept the desktop and laptop in the design and then I kept Ganesh Ji Idol on that, like this I created a concept for festival post.

I mentioned the “One step solution for all IT needs” then normally I wrote “Happy Ganesh Chaturthi” and also wrote “Laptop repairing After at your doorstep”.

We can create festival posts like this. We will see a practical example of the same and lets see how to create this.

As we have to create the Independent day post then Let's see what kind of material is available with us and how we can create that, we will see that practically.

OK! We have this content. There are some taglines and slogans for independence day.

There is also their main tagline “Laptop/Desktop repair at your doorstep” which is mandatory to use there.

Other things, their contact number is there.

OK!

Like that, we have to create festival posts.

We have contact details, tagline and slogan. Now, we have to set all of it with creativity.

We already have a logo. We will take our logo from anywhere or from a visiting card. Logo and our tagline.

We copied our tagline.

We will paste it in our new file.

Always remember that in Instagram posts……………….Right now majorly Instagram is in trend, Facebook is also in trend but Instagram is in more demand.

Instagram is such a thing where we can make posts in 10 by 10 inch square and 500 by 500 pixels only.

It is not like Facebook that it will accept any size post.

So that is a common thing, what we will do. We will make Instagram posts and the same post we will use on Facebook, Pinterest and other social media platforms.

We have made a post of 10 by 10 inches.

You have to always take in inches, so that it will be easier for you and resolution will also look great.

I took a square of 10 by 10 inches.

Then by double clicking, I took a box.

First of all, I want something good like a flag because it is related to Independence day.

First of all we will take all content from our PPT then after we will search out which kind of image we can use here.

Let's see what kind of content we have.

We have this for our content, we will copy this. After that we will copy the tag line.

After that I will copy the contact details.

You might be thinking that what is this pop up and why it is coming, so I clarify that whenever you copy something from different software, then this pop up comes where they ask to maintain fonts and formatting and maintain formatting only and the last one is discard fonts and formatting.

This always asked us but if you click on “don't show this warning again” then this will never come again.

If it is so again, then it is good for you because it will help you keep the same formatting.

See we have considered this many things.

Now we will search for a good image. you have to understand the whole process, how we make a good post.

I will tell you everything, you just have to understand the thought process behind the post.

That’s not only which I created in Canva, It is a very conceptualized and creative post.

that you have to understand, how we can manage the font, where should I place the logo, What and where we should keep all these things.

so that it should not look very much plain and jazzy.

We will try to create a very minimal post but we will be able to learn lots of things there.

 On freepik, we will normally search out. I searched for this site yesterday.

Type here Independence day India.

We have lots of good options here. Whichever you like, keep inside in the new tab.

This is also a very good option, very minimal and looking great.

You have to do R&D very thoughtfully.

Let’s try this one, how we can create this.

First click on download then click on free download. We got the as usual zip file here. We have to go to the show in the folder.

And we have to always keep this in a folder.

I saved it here.

Right click, extract files.

Here, we already have an illustrator file.

If we didn’t have the AI file then we converted the EPS file as we learned in the last lecture.

We had already learned all this process once, when we were preparing the Patel super market logo.

Then we got to know how to convert an EPS file into an illustrator file.

Right now, we will try to drag the illustrator file in CorelDraw and open it there.

If it will not open there then we have to compress this and modify this little bit.

That would be a very simple process which you understand easily.

We will try this once, direct drag in CorelDraw. If we are asked about the font then we have to click the OK.

Great! Our file opened here. OK!

This is an open file so that we have group and ungroup facilities here, so that we can modify it.

 We got everything here. We will ungroup it one by one, And we will delete everything which we don't require.

Just like we don't require this thing, because we will add our own typography so we will delete this. We don't require background also and we will use this thing later on.

I grouped this with all of the small particles, as you can see that.

There are tricolor and small triangles which are made with gradients.

We can use that also.

We got all the materials which we require. Now, we have to start our designing. OK!

How can we make all these things?

Along with all this material, we require one more thing that is the image of a person who is going to repair a laptop.

I already searched out that person.

I made a cut out in Photoshop. If you don't know Photoshop , I already told you in the last lecture there is a website named “removebg”, where you can upload any pic and it will convert into a PNG file and downloaded for free.

We can do that also.

We can take that photo, so that we will understand how many things are available with me.

You work like this only, so that nothing will be left out. OK!

He will take that photo once.

This is our photo, which I already kept to save our time.

You can see that I set the edutech logo on the bag in a very proper manner. OK!

Another thing, I want the office to look in the background, so it seems like the office or a corporation.

We need that kind of photo. so that We will search on Google “background office image” so that I will get a good layout. 

This one looks good and you don't need to focus on resolution so much Because we are going to blur it.

We don't need to save it right now.

I pasted it directly here.

Then I will take a square and I will power clip this image there.

After doing a power clip, I will blur this image.

You can go in effects then blur then gaussian blur. we will keep as per our requirement.

Our data or contents should be visible enough, that is very much important for us.

Out of everything, data is very much important for us.

I blurred it like this.

Our background is kind of ready now what I will do, I will give little transparency to this.

Because if I put our logo or anything else on this image, it should not be disturbed so that we will give transparency to this.

To set transparency is also a very artistic work. We have to do that with little understanding of how we are giving transparency.

Now you can see that it's very light and it will not disturb at all.

Now, how can we set this flag? First of all we will take this according to our size then this much smaller and little lower side.

OK!

This much things are done.

I hope you understand how I set this.

Then our engineer and logo.

First we will set our logo. And Let's see where it will fit.

We will take the logo on the left side.

Always remember that, when you are placing a logo then it should be on the top left side and the spacing should be accurate.

Here I am taking approx. 30 MM gap or nudge.

Then a nudge of 30 MM lower side and right side. The gap is the same now but it seems low, so I will increase the gap by 5 MM.

Now it's looking proper. Ok! Like this I set the logo.

Let's see this by flipping it and this one also. Everything will work on trial, you have to judge which thing will set where.

OK!

I am showing everything like things because you get to know how to do R&D and how to set everything.

I will make it bigger a little bit and I will powerclip it. (Pause)

We can set this person here. And we will powerclip this too.

Then we will go inside the powerclip and will set the elements there.

So it may be possible that we are able to show only half part of this person. Something like that.

We have to cover that anyhow.

We can set it like this.

We have to take care of lots of things here. We are doing design and there may be some rules and regulations, we have to take care of that.

This part is looking very big, so first of all we will take the Ashok Chakra inside. And we will try to make it smaller.

You can see that it is looking better now.

Now, we have set the content, which is the main part. For content, I will draw a text box, this much only.

I will paste this content into this box. OK!

Now we take any thin font for this content. Like this. This is a thin font. Like this.

I set the content and we have to set this content from here as well, “Full Justify” or “Force Justify”.

So once we will set it from here and click on justify. (Pause)

We will decrease the gap between the sentences. We will not decrease that much so that it will overlap or not be able to read it. We will keep the little gap.

We will make its font size 20. Because we don’t need it very much.

Then Laptop/Desktop Repairing At your doorstep. That is our most important content.

Below, we will write “Happy Independence day”.

We will write that once in any font.

We can take in Roboto thick font or we can do typography in any curvy font. We have both the options available with us.

But right now, normally we will keep this in any bold font.

We have to convert this in upper case.

Now we will set the small particles. Particles should not disturb our content, so for that I will delete some of them.

Then I will set our flag, little squeeze.

We can set this, something like that. And this much size of person is enough.

“Happy Independence Day” is written here, we have two options, either we can use our gradient in this or we can use orange and green color here.

Or we can use our logo color here.

We have tried both of them. That looks good.

Then after it comes, “laptop/desktop repairing at your doorstep” that is our tagline.

We have to highlight this in a different manner because our biggest motive behind this post is to get a business and make an impression in people's minds.

So that whenever they require anything for their laptop or desktop they remember edutech only.

So it is very important that we wish our product promotion should be also there.

Now, we will set this.

We will keep this laptop and desktop repaired in a big font but we keep the size the same as the “Happy Independence day” font.

We will try to keep this color matching to our logo.

OK!

Now below this, our contact number will come.

I will take a grayish patch here. Even if we don’t take it, there is no issue at all.

you always need to play with icons, you should not leave anything without icons.

I will click P and will take it in the center. I copied it.

Patch is not suitable here, so I removed it.

We will paste the contact details from here with the same size, that is 20.

I will make this a little smaller. Then it will be set here.

We will set this also and will use the same color and little, smaller. Alignment and left align.

OK!

Here we will try to keep the Laptop/ Desktop and Repair At your doorstep at the same. So here I kept it fully justified.

So, we will be able to set it perfectly.

We can change the font below. Let's try a different font here.

No. It is looking weird.

We will set this in the same manner.

This much things are set.

Then we don’t require these things.

 Say this much things are set but it looks very jazzy, so we have to set it again.

To set this, I will make this person smaller, this much is enough.

I will take the particles out for a moment because we don’t need this inside. We will set this from outside differently.

We will take Ashoka Chakra out.

then we will try to set this much part. Ok! I set it to something like that.

This much things are done.

As we learned the fundamentals like parent child fundamentals, let's see that once. Because here this is totally different and this is different and this is also different. OK!

We will make all the spacing perfect with SHIFT + A.

All spacing is the same here.

Now laptop/ desktop line, I will take 10MM nudge in downside.

Now our content should be along with wishes.

So I will take it 5 MM down. It comes nearer and laptop desktop tagline should be nearer to mobile number.

Now, take this 1 point down. Now everything matches here.

Now, we will try to set our particles. So that we will get a feeling of the festival.

Always remember that whenever you are setting particles or anything which should be kept in randomly, but we don’t have to keep that randomly because these small things are very much important and because of this we get the feeling of festival and niche.

If you don’t set it perfectly then it will overlap any content and it will lower the importance of that content.

So you always remember that you have to keep these particles very thoughtfully.

Now we will talk about Ashok Chakra. How can we set the Ashok Chakra?

We can keep it here as it was before. But the person is standing here, so we don't require it here.

We can keep this here in the center of our content.

But it is looking weird, Because there is no patch behind it. so I took the patch. OK!

I made it bigger than the fill white color and then I kept this below.

Now you can see that it is very much suitable.

And copy and I grouped it.

To make this one step ahead, I will try to give a drop shadow here.

OK! we will take the nudge of 2 MM and take it nearer to this.

Now you can see that properly. How well maintained this is and as we wanted to present it like we have to present “Laptop/Desktop Repairing'', we also wanted to present “Happy Independence day” and we also wanted to present our logo.

Everything is presented here in the proper manner.

Our office look is also behind this in the background. If we want to set that then we can do that but right now this is enough.

This is looking very great and we don't want to do anything else with it .

So like this we create a festival post.

So friends always remember that, whenever you make a festival post, Don't keep everything directly from freepik, you have to understand all the rules and regulations which are taught to you. You have to set all of them.

It is not like, you take any random image from the Internet and set your content and logo on that and present it.

Festival posts do not involve these things only. There are lots of things that come under the festival post.

You need to create a concept and when you create a concept Then only the client will give you respect and you will gain knowledge of how we can create a festival post for different businesses.

You don't need to copy it. You just have to take inspiration.

You can take elements from the internet but you don’t need to copy them.
