Coloring Logo in CorelDRAW

Now We will learn how to do research on colors.

We will directly search it on Google.

How many IT companies are there and what kind of color codes they are using. OK!

We have to see that.

We will search IT companies’ logos.

Majorly which colors are used here, you can see that.

Normally you can see that blue colors are mostly used.

Infosys has blue color.

Normally you will see mostly blue. OK!

We can consider the color blue as an option.

Dell also has a blue color. OK!

Majorly we are seeing blue here.

So what we will do, we will make an option where we will use blue color.

We will make a second option as per our choice not as per market recommendation.

We will make that logo as per our creativity, not as per market.

After that we will leave the decision on the client. If they want any suggestions and will provide accordingly.

Ok!

We will fill the color.

This is the final output of our logo.

Now you can see a cut here.

We have to clear this cut and for that I have to keep this on the other side and I will give the nudge 4 inch.

I will take a round.

Where is that cut? That is a little bit off center.

But we will take the center because there are chances of mistakes in the sketch.

This is a center portion.

I took this normally like this.

Ok! This cut will go from here.

Now I will do the intersection, so that I will get that much part which is overlapping. OK!

Now, we will see how much of a curve is here.

Here the curve is slightly bigger. OK!

We need a slightly bigger curve here.

We will do that again.

We want a sharp curve here. Like this.

We have to work with precision, so that we will get a great finishing and our design and logo will look great.

As much as possible you do it calmly.

We got this much part. I will trim it here so that we will get both the parts separately.

So that if I want to put gradients here then we can put it easily and I can fill different colors as well.

See, we got that much turn.

Now, everything looks good here.

We will begin from here only.

We will make two color palettes here.

This one color is done. We will make another one with a darker color.

These are in CMYK. So, we will convert both of these into RGB. Our both colors are set.

Now we will feel colors in our base.

We will try to keep a gradient in that and will see what we want to do actually here.

Here the color part is done and the same color we will keep it here as well.

Now, we will give a different shining to this part, so that it will look effective.

First of all I will give a gradient here.

We have to give the same color here so that we will be able to set the gradient. With the help of eyedropper, I gave the color here.

Select a new node here and a slightly lighter shade to it.

As you can see, it is shining from here.

We can adjust this line from here or we can tilt it like this.

Another thing, in this last part I want darker shade. 

So that it will look like a shadow. To give that effect, We will make darker shades like this.

And here we will take another node and keep it original.

You have to use your creativity here. Yes.

Here also slightly darker shade, So that it will look like it's shining there.

As you can see, from the normal color we created.

I will keep the progress part, so you will get what I did in each part.

This is our first step.

This one is our second step.

What will we do in the second step? we will keep the same gradient here, to give some gradient effect, what you have to do, you have to press this eyedropper for two seconds then you will get attributes eyedropper.

Now, you can take any gradient or color effect from this attribute eyedropper, you just have to click it and click wherever you want to give the effect.

It will take the same gradient there as well.

We don’t want to keep it as it is. We considered this for nodes only.

Same like that, we will keep blackish here as well. We will reverse this.

And here, slight black tone. Like this!

This much part is done.

Here we can give shadow as well.

We will remove the outline here first. Now we will give shade here till this part.

For that we will take a round. try to understand carefully, shadow is easy but you have to understand the technical part in a very well manner.

Also you have to understand the darkness of shadow.

That will go with our creativity and working style.

How do we want to show that shadow?

I selected the transparent tool here and we have to take this second number tool that is fountain transparency, and we will do the radial there.

So that it will look like this.

I set this here like this and I took this part on the top.

So that it will look like this part is above.

What will we do to delete this outside part?

We will use the same pathfinder, we will take the overlapping part and delete the external part.

Click it here, then overlap and click that much part and remove the external part.

We have this much part only. You can see that.

We have this much part, so the shadow remains there.

We have lighter the blackish part because it is looking very much darker. Like this!

This part is done. Now it is the turn of our WIFI.

In Wi-Fi, the same thing will go and there are two parts in that we will select eyedropper attributes.

Here, this part is different, and this part is also different.

We will do the same thing here as well. In the lower part, normal color will go, gradient will not look great here.

Here this part is upside down, so the lower side will be a little blackish.

You have to understand only which thing will go where and how to set that.

If you understand it very well then you won’t get any trouble anywhere.

Here we got the darkish part.

We can do the darkish here as well.

We will add one node here and make it a little lighter.

We have to do practice for color setting, so that you will get the idea how to set the color.

The shining part will come on the top and the darkest part will come in the lower. OK!

Here the darkish tone will come, So what you have to do. You have to add black here and you have to set it with precision.

Our Wi-Fi part is done, you can see that it has a slightly 3D effect.

You can see how the normal shape is looking totally different.

If you want then you can give this tone here as well.

This is also looking perfect.

Here in these two parts, we will not take normal color here.

We will take a slight blackish color. So it will give the feel of a CCTV camera.

We will use the same colors in the waves as well.

Waves are done. OK!

Then we have to click here. We have to fill the outlines here.

Our logo became ready in two colors.

Now, You can see how flat things look and how things change after giving the effect of gradient.

It looks very special.

We will fill color here as well, So that we can differentiate the normal one and the gradient one.

We will remove all the outlines.

You can see what we can do, if we think out of the box or one step further.

So, always think about what kind of effect we can incorporate in our logo or what can we do differently in our logo, to make it better.

There are some logos, where effects don't look good but there are some logos as well which look like something is missing here then we require to give some effects.

So we should think about what we can do in this.

Always keep trying and experience new things as well.

If you made this logo and if you feel that there is something missing Then you should try to give some effect and then compare both of them, so that you will find which one is looking great.

If you feel that effect is looking good then it's OK otherwise you have to look for another idea.

This whole thing depends upon the experiment. As much as experiment you do that is better for you.

Our icon is done.

Now we have to see how we can do typography here.

Company name is EDUTECH.

We will write EDUTECH once.

Its fonts are sometimes bold, medium, regular and light, so We will check fonts in our library, whether any font is suitable for us or not.

This is very much clear that we have to select sans serif. Serif fonts will not suit here.

Curvy fonts and stylish fonts will also not go with this.

We have to consider simple fonts only But it should be a little unique.

If our logo or icon is great then we should not compromise with our font.

If the font is perfect then our logo will look great.

We are not able to get a single font here.

So what we have to do, Google search DA fonts.

We will get thousands of options here. Sans Serif and we have type edutech here.

We will get previews here only. See this point is also looking great.

We want a slightly thin font.

This one is also a little unique.

It is different from normal fonts, E&D is looking different. We can try this as well.

This one is bold but a little unique.

This will go because of uniqueness. We will try this as well.

This one is also good. OK!

In this also D, U & T looked different. We will take this as well.

At this moment this much font is enough.

We will see this much font and how we can use this.

We will copy this all in our gallery folder.

We will extract all of it and click on type, so that we will get all the types.

Now install! All the fonts are installed now.

OK!

Now we will use the first one “caviar dream”.

We will see the options.

Second option is “caviar dream bold”. We can use this as well.

These two fonts are done.

Let's see another one, “Comfortaa bold”.

This one is also good but the thin will go with this, bold will not look great here.

You'll experience this all within a short time.

As I tell you immediately that the font will not suit here, you will also reach this point, when you will immediately recognize the perfect font, for that you have to see thousands of images, logos or icons.

Which thing will suit where, it all depends upon your experience.

If you're not getting ideas right now, then don't worry at all.

You will get it automatically after passing the time.

This all depends upon the experience, once you get the experience you know how to work.

“Rounded elegance” OK! That robot font will not suit here, that is a simple font.

We will delete the bold fonts, because it is not going with our logos.

Because our logos are already heavy, and we cannot use heavy fonts in that.

We will take this much part in another page, so that it will be easier for us.

We will get some space as well.

We will change the page size.

Color of this will be the same as we took it earlier.

You should understand the size of the logo and their icon as well.

This has become an option.

Another option.

Let's check the font of this one, “Comfortaa light”.

We will keep the same size to this.

We will align this. This one name is rounded elegance.

This many logos are done.

Now we have to make the decision which font is looking great?

If we talk about the first one, it is looking good but it is killing the readability.

If you want to read this then you cannot read within a second because E is a little tilted.

OK! So readability matters a lot.

We should understand that the logo is good but the edutech is not readable at all.

If We talk about the second logo, then it looks very beautiful.

It also has a unique D.

If We talk about the third logo, it has the same D like the second logo but the T is different here.

We don't need to confuse here in both these logos because the third logo is in plus point because of T.

If We keep this, then we will get the normal font because E & D are the same and U is a little different but it does not have that much importance.

T is slightly different.

So this one is our final logo. OK!

Now we will talk about color options, so we should give one more color option to them.

What we have to do for color options, we have seen color options from our side.

Now we will make one color with the help of Pinterest.

We will type the normal color palette here.

We will see what kind of color palates are here which will go with our logo.

You will also understand how to do R&D.

You have played it with different keywords.

Here we can play with this color. We took this color palette.

We will play with our nodes. What we have to do.

We have this original color, the center one.

We have to click it here only.

We have to take the same color of this and make it light. As we did that earlier.

As you can see, how it becomes light.

Here we will take the same color and slightly dark.

OK!

Here it is a little darker, so that we will get the shadows directly.

As you can see, this is being done and we will do the same thing here as well.

We will click it here only.

Then this is our original color, here it will be slightly darkish.

Here it will be more darkish. We will set the color as much as we have taken here.

Like this, all colors are set here.

Another thing, the darkish color will go with that.

Lots of people make mistakes here, they take this color here but when they have to fill color in this icon or in a symbol then they will consider orange color.

But then it will not look good. OK!

We have to take a darkish tone only in this. We will change this as well.

Same as per our trick.

Wherever we want light, we will do the light color there and here the original color will go and here a little bit dark and here darker, like this.

Here also the same.

Dark colors will go here. Here our original color will go.

Here we will use the lightest tone.

And here minor darkness. Something like this.

Here we will also use the same gradient.

Now, I will tell you what kind of mistakes some people make.

They do this a lot but when there is a matter of color selection, then they will choose orange color by mistake.

They will be creative with this. Sometimes we should not make things too creative.

If you see all the big brands, they don’t use many colors.

As per current trend of 2021, minimal logos are being used.

You have to understand that, do we need this many colors here? You need to change your taste.

As much as you observe the royal brand or big brand logo, you will find that those logos are very simple and minimal, but their meaning is very good.

We have to do the same.

We won’t keep orange here. We have to keep this only.

OK!

We will do the darkish tone, so that our simplicity will be maintained. Something like that.

But some people will make their logos more colorful like that.

But in reality, it does not look good.

You decide which one looks elegant.

Which looks elegant or sober? That will look great.

OK!

That thing which looks more elegant will also look great.

We have these two colors and we have to show these both colors to the client and we will leave the decision up to the client which one they are liking more.

So they can make decisions on their own, we don’t need to tell them anything.

Another thing, if they want suggestions, then as per my taste, I will suggest the blue one.

Everyone has different tastes and different choices.

Designing is very subjective.

If you like black color then I like white color.

If you like red then I like blue.

This whole thing depends upon liking.

But when we go in depth for any brand then our liking will not work, there always rule works.

There we have to work as per rule and the color, icon and font will be selected according to the rule and as per current trend, their audience and service.

There we should not look at our likings.

We work for the customer or market.

We don’t work for ourselves.

We are working for the market. So our likings and dislikes do not matter a lot.

But yes we have to upgrade our taste for color, gradient according to the market.

We have also seen how to do R&D and how to choose the colors.

Our decisions, how we take decisions between two fonts or in icons or in colors. OK!

We have seen this many things. We have finalized this logo. OK!
