FAQs

Data visualisation is the process of converting information into a visual representation, such as a map or graph, in order to make data easier to comprehend and extract insights from. Data visualization's major purpose is to make it easier to spot patterns, trends, and outliers in massive data sets.

While Excel isn't a visualisation programme, it is a flexible and effective tool for professionals of all levels who need to analyse and visualise data. Here are some examples of data visualisations you can make in Excel, as well as the methods required and some pointers to help you along the way.

  • Check a table or field in the field list or drag a field from the field list to the sheet to create a table on the Power View sheet.
  • Select a visualisation type on the Design tab to convert the table to a visualisation.
