Basically, we will see in portfolio creation is logo designing,branding,

first, we will see logo designing,

Before designing the logo, we should know what is a logo.

So how is one logo designed?

What should be the key factors and color scheme of the logo?

Before designing the logo, the mindset should be clear.

today, we will see all this about logo,

So what is a logo?

A logo is a symbol made up of text and images that identifies a business.

logo design is all about creating the perfect visual brand mark for a company.

So what does this mean?

logo is a symbol made up of text and images, Which means logo is a representation build with words and pictures that will identify the business, shop or whatever work you are doing

so to identify the work, you need logo

so this will be called perfect visual brand mark company*?*

you need a logo for branding.

After hearing the word brand, you must be concerned about brand.

So what is a brand?

a brand is a name, term, design, symbol or any other feature that identifies, one sellers good or service.

so to understand the brand, you can decide through its name, Term, design and symbol

like, waking up in the morning till ten o'clock you use many things of several brands

Like, colgate used for teeth brushing, wagh bakri for tea we use

So all these are brands, we will call them “brand”.

We will see types of logo now,

There are five types of logo.

First is monogram logo,

Second is word marks logo,

Third is pictorial marks logo,

Fourth is abstract logo,

Fifth is mascots logo,

So you must be feeling that i have said the names but what about the meaning?

So what is a monogram logo ?

 It has black and white tilt letters, like these

We have this WB logo, which has letters W and B in white and the background is black.

Here it is opposite, H and M is taken in black.

These are said to be monogram logos.

Monogram itself means black and white,

Second is word marks logo or logo types.

So our google, coca cola, fedex also many more logos which are only made with the names

Which means, they are a brand. google is a brand, so it famous more with its name

So for that, it is called word mark logos.

Word mark logo are designed in this way,

While designing the word mark logo, you need to take care that the words are smaller.

Meaning the if it has 10 - 15 letters then it cannot be included in word mark logo

Only when, it has 5 - 6 letter, can be included in word mark logo

Then pictorial marks,

What happens in this is only the symbol is there.

Like this is twitter, apple.

Only the symbol is designed in this, these are called pictorial marks.

 So these types of logos are also designed.

This is of shell, when we go to petrol pump to fill the petrol, this is their logo

This is Apple And This on twitter.

So this only has the design, the logo is designed as a symbol.

Then, this is abstract logo

In this it stays colorful, colors are filled with some gradients and some bright colors

In this way, abstract logos are designed.

And then in Mascots logo,

what happens in this is, there will be one shape, lines will be added and also the text

Logo designed with a combination of everything is called a Mascot logo.

See this KFC, which includes lines, design, shapes and text as well

While designing the logo, the five key factors to be taken care of are..

• Relevant
• Describable
• Memorable
• Effective without color

 Don’t worry or get confuse, i will teach you everything in detail

So in this relevant and appropriate way, Your logo should be an appropriate reflection of your industry, suitable.

Suppose, if we are launching new in industry and you are planning to launch a new mobile

So you need to think before launching a phone, what will be your logo and you cannot make a logo not relatable to your new mobile. 

Which means, your logo should be relatable to your industry, should suit your work.

This is key factor one.

Then Describable or Legible.

What will be in this?

Fonts that are difficult to read should be avoided or used very lightly. Which means, the letters like in cursive writing are a bit hard to read so we do not need to use such fonts.

And very light which means thin letters should be used

Heavy use of gradients, shadowing and glow effects can be distracting.

Which means gradients, shadow and glow effect that you are using will distract the people

Meaning, it won't be memorable much

Like as you can see below, i have kept an example, animal and pair

So the font is kept very light and thin in this and gradient is not used. Neither shadow is used anywhere, no glow, no effects, simply lines are drawn that are also very thin.

Well this is the second key factor.

Now, third key factor is memorable,

So if your logo is not able to target the market, you won't be able to use such logos

Which means, if you created any logo

 for example, as i told you for the mobile

So suppose you made the logo for mobile but it is not suitable for your firm, so how will the audience know that this logo, this brand is selling mobile.

So at the start itself you need to create a logo that suits the market.

So this is the third key factor,

Your logo is useless if your target market can't remember it, which means market is not able to recognise your logo or able to think back of it

That's why a simple, original design is most effective.

Which means, our easy and original design will be more attractive

Like this below the symbol that i have used, as you can see for the example, it is very simple and original as well and you can remember it also because of its color, its simplicity. You will be able to remember it.

Then effective without color, some logos are set with alot of colors, they look good but there also some logos which are kept in black and white version.

You must have seen, many logos stay in black and white.

Even on websites, they use logos in black and white.

Also, each and every logo should look good in black and white, similar kit should be made.

Which means, if you are using your logo for some work, in that whatever logo you made, colorful is obviously, made but then you want to fill black and white to check if it looks nice.

Because at some places the colorful logo looks good and at other places black and white logo looks good.

In the logo kit, after your product is ready, After designing the logo that you are providing and you wish to provide black and white as well, it will look good.

As I told you, logo designing is not an easy work, it is tough.

Before designing the logo some thoughts should be processed in our mind.

Which means, we need to think what will be its design,

how will the work be done related to it?

So seven types of logo design thought process:-

1. Evaluate the brand
2. Research the industry
3. Make a list of where the logo will be used
4. Sketch a variety of logo concept
5. Create digital drafts in vector software
6. Refine your logo design with feedback
7. Prepare and deliver the final logo files.

Meaning, what we will do first is, your first step in the logo design process is to understand. what the brand embodies which means to understand its brand, its business, what do he do and what the business’s goals are. What will he deliver to the client.

Suppose he has a clothing business, so how will he deliver the clothes,

We will evaluate regarding its brand, which means, we will research little bit

Then We will research more related to the same, second is our point, research the industry.

Similarly, if we have a brand for mobiles, obviously there will be other brands too.

So, we will see how is their logo designed, how is their branding, how are their competitors working in the industry, how is its logo working, how is their brand name working,

So we will research the same.

The first step, is called ‘Client Discovery’ meaning evaluate the brand,

Do make notes for all these,

You need to remember all these while designing the logo, also if you take freelancing work from someone, you need to remember all these and so need to research as well then only your logo will have successful design.

So first is client discovery,

What do we do in this ?

Check its brand value, discuss about its business goals, what does his brand sell, what are their goals, so we will check for all these.

Second is “industry discovery”

Which means, to check the competitors, how are they working.

Which means, to check their logo, what is the tagline given below the logo, what are their colors for the logo. All these things that we will check are called Industry Discovery.

Next, we will make a list logo that we are making, where it will be used?

Which means, we will make its strategy, that will it be used physically or digitally

Physically in the sense, naming cards, name pad, used as watermark.

So all this is physically. And digitally means to run on a website, then give a campaign on gmail, working on a marketing campaign. All these things will be set, so this is called application discovery.

After that here it comes, where are these logos used?

For example,

1. Website icon
2. Sign and banners
3. Logo on product packaging as well
4. Advertisement
5. Social media Profiles and banners

If created a channel on youtube then it's banner will be made

Banner for facebook

1. Business card includes logo and tagline
2. Company letterhead
3. Email marketing campaign.

We will discuss all these, among these where will its logo come

We will check on those things.

After that, what we will do is sketch a variety of logo concept

Which means, if you directly open softwares or websites to design a logo, this is not how it is worked in a industry,

First, you need to think that this is a logo, this is the company, i researched on it about this also that also.

We will sketch related to it which means, a little bit of paperwork.

What will be on paperwork? We can show to the clients that we have made this type of logo and can check if he likes it. Also speed is maintained.

If you have some logo idea, you might be tempted to jump ahead into logo design software,

But before you start zeroing in on your final design, take some time to sketch plenty of ideas

Sketching is cheap, easy and fast.

So this is your easy and fast way to design logo.

Which means, just design your logo on sheet of paper, show it to the client, if approved then take it into softwares.

After that, similarly create digital drafts in vector software.

Which means, in photoshop or in illustrator, vector image that we have to make

We will deliver it after designing.

That is our work, final design we made on paper, we will design the same

after designing, we will refine the same logo little bit which means, to make it better little bit

By adding colors, where to add gradients, which shape should lines have, what will happen?

We will do all these things and take feedback from the client as well, what thing is required at what place? If wants some changes, if client already has some taglines,

Then we will prepare after taking the feedback, if he likes everything, then it will be our delivery folder. What will be in the delivery folder?

With your logo finalized, it's time to deliver your final files.

You should determine, what design files your client needs at the start of the process, in case they have any special requirement. But in general, it is best to include : AI file means AI file that is designed in Vector illustrator, the PDF file, EPS file, different vector program. If he does not have illustrator then he can open in different softwares to design later.

Then High resolution raster files meaning we need to deliver a high quality image

Which can be png, jpeg, or if any other type they are asking for, we need to do in the way they ask for.

So these are some processes before designing the logo, we need to remember all these things then start a design for the logo, so i hope you must have understood.
