Flyer Designing in Photoshop

As we have learned in the last topic, how to make a 3D logo and we had also made a visiting card. What should be the size of the visiting card, we also saw that.

Today's topic is that we will make a flyer design of A4 size which is used in commercials and what should be the size of the flyer?

After that we will learn how to apply text on the portrait.

You must have seen that many people get their portrait clicked and write their name on it.

We will see that too and do it with a clipping Mask.

Let's go to the photo shop.

I have opened Photoshop.

Click on Create New, Then click on Print and then click on A4 size. Whose dimension will be 210 in to 297 mm.

Whose revolution will be 300 and we will do that work in millimeters.

Let's name it Creative Flyer.

First, I will show you an example, which type of flyer we are going to design.

Like I have this flyer.

So today we will design something like this.

Let's see it.

First of all we will see where its placement is.

What can we use to make it?

We can use square to make this and we will use square to make that too and give it a stroke of white color.

Here there will be a square, this is Second Square and this is Third Square.

By the way, we can also use our Polygonal lasso tool to make this.

Like this, this, this, this and this.

But I would prefer to keep both in a separate square so that we can fill the color very fast.

Make it square and rotate it. it will be ready.

This is a triangle shape and it will not take much time to make it.

That's all, we can also design all these of our own.

I will also teach you guys how to design it.

 First of all we will take colors like yesterday.

So what will be our color, let's see.

I have made this square so we will fill color in it.

 We will fill it with red.

Take this we will make the second one.

Here I turn on the transform tool so that we can know.

 I took this gray color and filled it in with the second one.

We will make the third one and fill it with an orange color in it.

You have to do the same thing and you also have to design a company's flyer.

So you guys go to that company's website.

copy those colors which are available on the company's website.

It will be easy for you to match those colors.

You have to do the same process.

Now by selecting these three, we will press Ctrl+E.

We will keep it in such a corner so that it is easy for us to pick those colors.

Now we will create a Square.

Its height and width will be 700.

Fill the orange color in it.

Let's set it by rotating it !

We got this slant as soon as we entered it.

 It's done. In this we will fill our second color which is in the darker tone.

set it properly and let's zoom in.

By selecting these three, we will match them.

So this is ready.

Take a square of 500 by 500 pixels.

You guys can take anything according to you.

I will zoom in and by pressing Ctrl+T we will take its points and rotate it.

Can do it even at 40 degrees.

Will enlarge it a bit so that it looks good.

It's done. Now take another square and fill the gray color in it.

In this square we will add our image.

This is how it is, We will rotate it a little bit at 50 degrees.

We will enlarge it a little and as soon as we enlarge it, we will put a stroke in it.

What will be our stroke? white.

We will increase some thickness of it.

 After increasing this thickness, we will open our image with it.

 This is the image that I have and you will find it in the resource folder.

 You can take this image and use it.

Then press ctrl+v.

This Image contains very high quality.

So this has to be compressed.

Convert to smart option by right clicking.

After making a smart object, if you compress it, then its quality will be maintained.

We will match it with this.

 Click on Clipping Mask! So it will get matched with it.

Right now the image is a bit small, so I will make it a little bigger proportionately by pressing ctrl +T.

After seeing a good view, we will set it.

This view is good so keep it here.

What we have to do is set the image by the creator's clipping mask.

Image will get set in it.

This will be for our headline.

Set it here.

This is our direction tool to set it.

Now go to edit, click on transform and then click on Distort.

What will happen with this, will we be able to set it here.

First of all We'll set it here, where we want its position.

I want its position here but its size is too big.

So we will compress it proportionately.

go to edit, click on transform and then click on Distort.

 by pressing shift you can also do it manually straight.

So, our shaping is done and we have set all the shapes well.

 Now go to edit and click on transform. Then click on Distort.

 It's done and we'll press the enter button.

After selecting.

All this shaping is done and I have to set it a bit manually.

We will rotate it a little more.

And whatever our text remains, we will keep it white.

Here we will write our head line.

Head line.

Click on it and press ctrl A and it will increase its size.

We will change this font into our regular fonts.

We will shrink the fonts a bit more.

So it's done.

You can put the tagline under the head line.

Let's add that also.

Whatever headline tagline of the company you want, you can put it here manually.

Tagline goes here.

The font size of it will be smaller.

Set it manually here. done.

Here are our circles and inside it are our symbols.

To set that up, we'll use the ellipse Tool.

And by pressing shift. We will make it round.

And we will fill it with our color.

Take a copy of the same and change its color.

By pressing swift, set proportionately, I took them down.

 Here's a little round in which there is a human sign.

 Like we learned in the last lecture that we have a full logo of people here but they will not look good in it.

 We will take this sign and will set it over here.

And make its color white.

And make it smaller with alt, proportionately.

And it's done then this is our search option.

We will also have this search option and fill white color in it.

And proportionately by pressing alt, we will shorten it.

And set it in the middle.

At last we have the option of a house .

This is done, also this.

House and fill white color in it.

And you guys can also add whatever text is here .Which will be the text for the company.

And copy it here and keep it and keep its color black!

And the fonts that remain in it will change a little.

So the flyer we are making right now is not making the complete flyer. We are just designing its layout.

When the flyer comes to you in actuality, then you will have to fill up all the details in it.

These details.

Not everything will come here as written.

We will write about the company here.

How did it come? I took it from the text box.

These automatically written fonts come and we can use them.

We will make it smaller.

making it smaller and setting this accordingly.

A Lot of details will be added here, you can increase the size and set accordingly.

You can do whatever you like.

Whatever is available in it, I am setting as per it.

We will increase our font size so it can be readable.

We will also increase the font size of ""place your text here"".

And here, in the toolbar, we also have another font .

So, I will make one square here.

we will get our font here also.

We will select it's color as white colour.

So,it can be readable .

We will work on its contrast.

So that we can know where this font will be used.

Here, the background color is dark so we have to select the font color according to it.

So we can read it properly.

We cannot use red or maroon color as font color.

Because ,then the person will not be able to read anything.

Here, you can put the name of the company and also the logo of the company.

We will use our logo which we have designed in our previous lecture.

This is the time to put our naming logo.

And we will select it's color tone as dark.

While designing a logo, the only thing which you have to keep in mind is, your logo should get set in any color.

Now, our flyer is ready.

At the bottom you can add your text.

Here, beside where your address will come.

All that will be added.

You can also add your phone number.

So, our flyer is now ready.

We can say it as a simple and elegant flyer.

we will save it in a file .

By creative flyer as a file name.

You can do one more thing in this flyer to make it look better.

I am taking a pen tool and drawing a line from the top.

Here, here and here.

After doing this, we will select the convert to point tool.

What will happen with this is,

You will get two points from here.

You will incline it from one point.

And from the other point you will give a look.

We are doing the other point to give a curvature look.

Then, we will select the curvature pen tool.

We will give it a curved look from the curvature pen tool so it gets set properly.

We will try so that it will be designed well.

I am designing it something like this.

It is okay with whatever design it has outside.

We have to get a good design for the interior part.

I am trying here.

We will select ctrl enter .

I am making a new layer by ctrl shift N .

Then, I will fill the color with it.

So, we will get a pattern.

Somewhat Like this.

Same pattern you can draw at the bottom and on the left side also.

There is also another pattern we can design at the top.

So , I am doing ctrl Z .

Then, our logo will be set up on it only.

For now we are closing our logo.

We will try to make some good patterns.

So, I am doing like this .

Some curves like this.

Some patterns like this.

And now I am finishing my pattern.

I will create a new layer by ctrl shift N.

We will fill our color by ctrl enter.

By ctrl D we will deselect from it.

And we will increase its size a little bit.

So, we will get some good pattern, also that fill

And we take our logo on the upper side.

by this we got our space for the logo.

you can see online for the pattern of floral fonts.

Also about other patterns.

you can use all those with a pen tool.

In the pen tool, if you will use these curvature pen tool and convert pen tool .

Then, you can get a better look from them.

In addition, if you want to add points.

We have this “add anchor point tool”.

You can use this to add points.

You can convert this into curvature and bring the fill you want

Whichever you want.

same thing you can design here.

You can also add the water wave design.

And color fill it, but how will we fill the color?

The three to four colors which we have taken.

Which were available on the website.

Will use that color to fill so it can match with the flyer.

Now, we are in photoshop.

As we have discussed.

We will learn about portraits.

I have an image to do portrait.

First of all we will crop a little bit of the image.

Because we don't want the whole part, so crop.

Then, we will go to the magic wand tool and will do some selection.

Then we will select the subject.

It will select the subject.

As it selects the subject.

We will go to the select.

And in that we will choose the “select and mask” option.

Then, we will get the options for refining the edge.

Here we will use smart radius.

its radius will be totally 0 %.

Then, we will do some selection so that hairs are selected properly.

I am doing slowly slowly.

Around his ears and beard.

if black happens like this then be careful do Ctrl Z.

We will do selection.

We will do selection lightly.

So that we can get it's depth and all.

Then we will go down and do selection.

Turn on decontaminate colors.

 And select a new layer. After the new layer, click ok.

What will happen?

Then we will get the background layer separately and we will get this.

After getting this we will turn it a little black and white.

we will do some color corrections and all in black & white.

As you can see we have done some of our color correction and all.

Here we will need it's alpha so we will press control and click on it.

Then we will get it's selection.

Go to select and save selection.

We are not putting its name and all for now.

As you can see here we have got its alpha.

We will do Ctrl D to it.

We will do Ctrl J to this so we will get a copy.

Go in filter > blur > select version blur.

 And we will make sure to get its somewhat blur effect.

6 is not proper enough .

So, we will do it at 8%.

After making it blur, right click on this.

And do a duplicate layer.

In the duplicate layer, background copy will be the same.

In naming we will put it as a document new.

And in new keep it as “displacement”

Because we have to displace it .

By clicking ok it will take you to a new layer.

In the new layer, We will save it on our PC.

Because whenever we will need it, we will replace it.

Now it's displaced.

After this we will use the word cloud.

How is this word cloud?

I have already made it .

I will show you.

This is known as word cloud.

This has naming and all.

Also You will get Many Other options for word cloud.

google once about word cloud, you will get many word clouds.

Now we will shift it to our portrait.

Then we will drag and drop this on his face.

Now it's very dark so we will decrease its size.

And will close the background layer and will create a new layer there.

We will fill it up with black color.

and drag this towards the down side.

After doing this, we will select our word cloud.

We will right click on it and double click this layer.

the blending mode that will turn on.

In that we will go on the drop shadow option.

After going into the drop shadow, zoom in this.

Because we have to give it a drop and shadow effect.

So let's see which shadow suits perfectly.

For now, 85% opacity is good.

Let's look for angles as well.

This angle seems to be right .

will make it at 6 distance then enter .

So we will get its shadow.

After getting this, we will do Ctrl J on it .

And do the placement .

Like on which place we want to place it.

Now, I am only doing it's placement.

Wherever you want you can do it's placement and all.

We will rotate it to make sure it doesn't overlap.

We will enter it.

also lock all the layers to make sure they are not selected.

Ctrl J.

Let's zoom it a little bit. And do like this.

Ctrl J.

We only have to do placement everywhere to cover his full face.

You can rotate, distort and make it small as well.

By clicking enter I have decreased the size of the word cloud.

Try to keep it in a better position.

Then I will rotate it from this side.

So that it is not matched from everywhere.

By ctrl J.

I will rotate it at 90° from here also.

We will increase it a little bit.

Ctrl J.

Now it's done.

So we will select all the layers and make a group.

And will copy the same group.

We will rotate it at full 180°.

You can rotate it at 180° and at 90° also.

I am doing it at 180° then we will enter it.

What will happen with this?

it will get filled totally.

There will be no gap in between.

Then, after this we will do Ctrl E on group 1 copy and group 1.

After control E.

we will convert it into a smart object.

After making it a smart object, we will distort and displace it.

In displacement, horizontal and vertical scale will be 20 .

In displacement map : stretch to fit.

And in undefined areas: repeat edge pixels.

select okay.

select the file that we saved of displacement.

What will happen is, it will get distorted.

our text will get distorted to all the places because of gaussian blur.

After that, close it from here.

Then we will do selection by pressing control.

After selecting this with this.

we will turn on all the layers.

To work…?

Now we will do masking and this will get closed

After doing this, the group that we have created, will take that upwards.

And this with this, convert all to smart objects.

And we will do Ctrl J on our new layer. One having the group.

This will go under it.

Will turn it on, this also turn on.

And in this layer which had alpha.

We will take its selection by pressing control.

And we will add masking.

And we will decrease the opacity to the lowest.

15 or even less.

We will do linear dots.

We can also layer linear burner.

So Our placement was not correct.

Our portrait is ready with selection.

You can also decrease it's opacity.

 By this you will get a better look and fill.

If you want the text at the side .

then you can take it by decreasing the opacity.

Decreasing the fill will get you full text.

So, our project is completed.
