Layer Styles, Fill and Merge in Photoshop

In today's session, we will learn different types of layers, that where and how it is used?

 in layer here it comes rename layer, if you want to change the name of Layer then you can do it from here.

 first, option here comes is bevel and emboss.

See this object, behind that something like shadow is turned on and also little emboss is applied.

In Bevel emboss, some more options are included

Inner bevel, outer bevel.

See in this way, it will create shadow

Emboss, below emboss, strokes.

Like outer bevel, increasing depth from here, will increase the area of bevel.

You can increase it size,

Let's take inner bevel, see in this way if you wish to create any object then you can use this.

If you want to make this a bit softer, in this way it will get softer.

Here it comes smooth, if you wish to make it harder, then you can make it harder as well, If you want this upper shadow to be at lower side then you can change its position as well,

You can apply the effect as per your preferences,

 If you want to decrease the opacity, this shadow, then you can increase or decrease the opacity as well, okay? I have made black shadow darker, it will get reduced, if we decrease the opacity. You can give different styles in this way from here.

After that, more layer styles are available like strokes,

 See stroke is made around ellipse,

We can increase or decrease its size

inside , outside means you want the stroke inside, outside or in the centre so in this way you can set this.

Similarly, here also you can use opacity in this way

You can change the colour of outline, whatever color you want, you can apply

If you want inner shadow, you can add inner shadow from here

Distance, increasing its choke will make the outline blur or sharp,

Size variation is also possible.

If you want to increase the noise then this type of effect you will get.

Same again ready made effects are given here as well, you can also use these in this way

See you can change the blend mode from here also, usually we have to keep it normal,

But if you want this type of effect then you can use it

Multiply, colour burn, different effects are given, which are also available in layers.

If you don't want the shadow, but the inner glow then you can glow as well,

You can change the colour effect also from here in this way,

We will decrease the noise and keep it normal.

If you want to increase the size in this way, you increase or decrease the size.

Here are also some readymade effects given, you can use them as well.

Satin, which means to overlap a particular colour so this is used.

If we will increase the Opacity, then colour will also remain more,

If in this way you want to give shading, in this way we can change the shading

Colour overlay, you can overlap any colour on this,

See whatever you colour want you can apply.

Decreasing opacity will make the background colour visible.

After that, it comes gradient overlay similar to colour, here in gradient also you can overlap in this way.

And from here, if you want to add your own made gradient, then you can do that as well

You can scale that, linear gradient, radial, angle, reflector, diamond, whatever you want you can use.

Instead of gradient, if you want pattern, pattern can also be overlaid in this way.

You can also scale this, opacity increase or decrease,

If you want outer glow, see the outer glow is increasing.

Lets increase the size little bit and change the colour,

See the size is increasing, spreading it more,

Increase or decrease its range from here, you can

Here also some ready made options are given, you can use them,

To apply drop shadow, opacity, again size,

shadow colour - if you want any other colour of the shadow, then you can apply that as well,

Let's make it normal from here, increase or decrease the distance

You can spread.

Increase the noise, clicking ok here will change style of your layer,

Here if you can see the layer, this ‘fx’ symbol which is displaying means, you have applied the effect on it.

If you wish to hide this effect, then you can hide it from here in this way, drop shadow.

After that, here it comes new fill layer which means, if you wish to fill the full layer with solid colour, then you can fill in this way, whatever colour you want to add on the layer, you can add that directly.

If in its place, you want gradient, you can add gradient as well,
