Choose the cell where the current date or time should be entered. To insert the current date, use the shortcut Ctrl + ; (Control + semicolon). To insert the current time, use Ctrl + Shift + ; (Control + Shift + semicolon). Use the combo (Ctrl + ;) as a shortcut.
The quickest way to do this is to press Shift+Ctrl+; (that's a semicolon) in Excel's built-in shortcut for entering the current time. You'll see the current time as you want it if the cell is configured to show times in 24-hour format.
Type the date (for example, 2/2), then select Short Date or Long Date from the Home > Number Format option (in the Number tab).
To insert the time, go to Home > Number Format menu (in the Number tab) >Time and type the time.
To format the date and time data types from a date column (date, DateTime, datetime2, smalldatetime, datetimeoffset, etc. ), use the FORMAT function.
Use SELECT FORMAT (getdate(), 'dd/MM/yyyy ') as the date to get DD/MM/YYYYY.
