EPCs' principal mission and function is to promote India as a preferred export destination for high-quality goods and services. To do this, EPCs act as ambassadors for India and its exporters in international markets, promoting their products through various channels.
Commodity boards are government-sponsored organisations created to promote some of India's historic export goods with significant export potential. The Export Promotion Councils are supplemented by these boards.
COMMERCE DEPARTMENT. Under the Department of Commerce, there are five statutory commodity boards. These boards are in charge of tea, coffee, rubber, spices, and tobacco production, development, and export.
There are currently fourteen Export Promotion Councils under the Department of Commerce's administrative jurisdiction.
The primary purpose of export promotion is to prepare "potential" industries to compete against overseas competitors. As a result, their childhood industries must be preserved for a while.
