Through a network of 24 regional offices, the DGFT also distributes scrips/authorization to exporters and supervises their accompanying obligations.
The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) of India provides a set of guidelines and framework for importers and exporters interested in doing business in India. The DGFT IEC stands for DGFT Importer Exporter Code. Any genuine person or corporation wishing to engage in international trade must obtain the DGFT IEC.
All imports and exports to and from India are included in India's foreign trade. It is handled by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry at the federal level.
