The freight volume of a shipment for domestic and international freight is measured in cubic metres, or CBM. The CBM is calculated by multiplying the shipment's width, height, and length together.
Volumetric Weight in kilogrammes = Length X Width X Height in centimetres / 5000 Divide the result by 5,000 after multiplying the length, height, and width in cm. The volumetric weight is the end outcome.
EQUIVALENCE: 1 CBM = 1.000 KG.
CBM = Length x Width x Height
This is the formula for calculating the volume of your cargo in CBM (m3). Let's say you have a 2 metre long, 2 metre wide, and 2 metre height container. The volume is hence 2 × 2 x 2 = 8 m3.
The first step in choosing how to ship your cargo is to calculate cubic metres (CBM). Formula for calculating CBM: Cubic metre (m3) = Length metre x Width metre x Height metre / 1,000,000 = Length metre x Width metre x Height metre = Cubic metre (m3)
