Going Live on Shopify and Shipping Products

Hello everyone.

So, moving on to the next topic, which is “shipping and delivery”.

Look friends, to run a successful e-commerce business, you have to get good partners for shipping and delivery.

Now, who are they? They are the ones that deliver your products to the customers effectively.

And, if a customer has raised a query, that I don’t like the product after 7 or 10 days, and you have given the policy that within 7 days you can return the product.

So, if you have mentioned that return policy. You can learn that from Amazon, they have a 7 days or 10 days return policy, and they fluctuate.

You might have seen on many other E-commerce platforms that they have a return policy. If you have maintained a shipping or return policy then you need to have a shipping and delivery partner that will manage shipping and delivery on your behalf.

You can also manage it yourself to your level. But what happens is if you manage shipping and delivery to your level, then it adds more burden on you.

So, to avoid that burden, I suggest that you must have a shipping and delivery partner. They can be anyone “FedEx, DTDC, Speed post”, etcetera. You can select anyone among those from your end.

So, come, let’s try to understand this practically, how can you manage shipping and delivery easily on Shopify. Okay.

So, friends, on the left-hand side you can see “shipping and delivery” here. You have to click on it, and you will see a screen where you can see what should be the delivery methods? And the rates of shipping can be fixed. If you click on “manage rates”, then you can fix “domestic or international rates” easily.

So, friends, when you click on the “shipping and delivery” button you will land on this screen with all the details.

Here you have to click on “manage rates” on the right-hand side, where you can change the rates of domestic and international delivery.

So, I am going to change the rate. I am clicking on “add rate” as I want to keep one standard rate, that is 100 rupees. For example, I have inserted 100 rupees and clicked on done. So, in the domestic delivery, the shipping charges will be 100 rupees.

If you want to go for international shipping then you can fix its rate too, (pause-6 seconds) as I am doing it right now. I want to keep it to 1000 rupees, then click on done.

 So, I have added this amount for the rest of the world that is internationally and then I will save it. After this, when you return, you will see that the shipping rates have been fixed.

If you want you can update it with a third-party delivery partner. If you want to have access to a third-party delivery partner with your account then you have to upgrade your plan in Shopify. For now, I am skipping it. Okay.

Then, you will see “custom order fulfillment” here. What is fulfillment?  We already understood this in Amazon.

Friends, as you return to the main screen, after scrolling down you will find if you want to activate local delivery or not. So, we have kept ”does not offer  local delivery”, then if local pickup is being applied or not. Then packages, means what is the size of your package and what is the weight. That information can be shared by entering, so Shopify can understand what will be the box size or the weight of the package. (Understood?)

 Then, if you scroll down further, you will know that if you are making a packing slip. You might have definitely seen that a courier person gives you a slip while delivering your product, indicating that this courier was ordered by you.

So, that receipt can be edited as a merchant. So, I am clicking on it and going to “edit”, there is some certain coding here. If you are good at coding, then you can go and check here.

You don’t have to do coding; it is already prepared.

I just want to show you a preview of this, if you click on the right-hand side here on the preview template, then you can see that you have made a receipt just now. So, this is the receipt that you are seeing.

“Thank you for shopping with us”. You have created this receipt. And the customer gets this receipt when he/she orders the product. (Clear, so far?)

So, this was a preview of how you can provide a packing slip. You can see that in this way packing slips will be received by the customer. We just saw in the packing slip template, that if you know coding, then you can change your slip.

Otherwise, Shopify has already made that in the default version for you, so you don’t have to change it necessarily.

Now, as you scroll down, you will see “Carrier accounts” which means you can enable a third party. What is a third party? If you have an extra shipping partner.

Basically, Shopify has already inbuilt shipping partners. But apart from that, if you want any other shipping partners like FedEx or any other app that you wish to link to, in order to do that, you have to upgrade your plan.

If you don’t want this then let it be as it is. And if you want to deliver it with the help of Shopify or by yourself, then you can deliver it manually too. So, all this information can be inserted in the shipping and delivery tab here.

But that’s all for now. This is all in the shipping and delivery tab. You can study more about it and you can know more about the courier companies and delivery partners that will support you in shipping.

Then friends, after adding all these details, you will notice that your Shopify account is ready. It is ready for Going live with Shopify.

Yes, your account is absolutely ready because you have updated all the information and you will see how your account or your store is visible to the customer. (I hope you are following)

Friends, when we started creating this store, you must have noticed this screen where, from the left-hand side, you can take an actual look at the preview of how your online store is displayed.

When you click on it, then you will see how your store is displayed. Look.  So, friends with the help of a basic site, I have tried to let you know that your website or store will appear like this. And this full site is active right now. Let me show you by clicking on a button.

For example, if I click on “Explore our product”, then you will see that our product is visible to you. We have mentioned this product and the image of the product can be seen along with the headline on the left hand side and description.

And, if any user wants to buy, he/she will click on “Buy it now”.

 So, in this way, we can make our product go live. And you will grasp how much happiness it brings looking at our product being live in the store.

If you want to go through the paid version of Shopify, then I will recommend you to go for the paid version of Shopify. Because in a basic way, we have created a store.

Now, think about it, you are one more step ahead. Earlier you were trying to sell your product offline and now you are selling online today.

Yes, you are selling your product online through Shopify. Shopify provides you with the system, through which you can gain a level and and you can create such a beautiful look on the internet,  through which a customer will value you more and eventually your brand will be created.
