Hello friends, welcome to this important strategic training program where we are learning how to sell effectively on E-Commerce, how you can join your business to E-Commerce.
So let’s begin today's topic which is - Difference between B2B and B2C E-Commerce Platform.
Friends, when you would have searched about E-Commerce platforms on the internet, you must have heard B2B and B2C many times.
So let’s see what B2B & B2C actually is, okay?
Let’s understand their full form first.
What is B2B?
B2B is Business to Business.
And what is B2C?
Business to Customer.
Customer? No! Consumer.
If you have heard anywhere that B2C means Customer, that B2C means Business to Customer, then it’s not like that.
B2C’s authentic full form is Business to Consumer.
Now you must be wondering what is the difference between Customer & Consumer, aren’t both of them the same?
No! It is not like that.
Let me give you an example for that.
For instance, there’s a small kid in your house.
(1:29-1:32 unnecessary line)
Okay? Suppose there’s a small kid in your house & you are giving him his favourite chocolate.
You are a customer & he is a consumer.
Let me give you another example, suppose you are going to a wedding & you are giving them a gift.
For that, you stopped by a shop & bought a gift so that you can wrap it & give them as a wedding present.
So you are the customer while they are the consumer.
Whoever is the end user of the product, are called consumers.
To make you understand it more clearly, I’ll give you one more example of Product Supply Chain.
You must have seen shops such as groceries, hardware shops, and many other shops near your house.
There will be many shops around our house.
Look at any 1 shop & you will know that it represents a retailer.
Retailer, yes! Retailer.
All the items, goods & products he has, he might be getting it from somewhere.
So the goods & the products might be made from some raw material.
A manufacturer might have carefully made that raw material in bulk & he might have sold it to a wholesaler in bulk & that wholesaler would have distributed it to a retailer.
This is how the product has been sent to you.
So this is the product cycle chain where the product that reaches you, has passed through raw material, manufacturer, distributor, wholesaler & retailer.
So your communication with the retailer is Business to Consumer.
But the communication among the sellers and retailers is Business to Business.
Yes! Because it’s a business supporting another business to send the product but after the retailer, the product is being sent from Business to Consumer directly.
Yes! The retailer is delivering it to the end user, right?
I hope I am able to explain to you through this example what is supply chain, product supply chain.
You must have gotten a small idea about B2B & B2C.
Now let’s see how many platforms there are in the online world & how they work.
So there are a lot of platforms from which I gave you some honourable mentions.
For B2B, that is selling to businesses, yes, Alibaba is a world famous website about which you might have already heard.
Then comes India Mart, India Mart is the best for B2B market in India.
Hence I have taken an example of Alibaba & IndiaMart but there are more channels & platforms.
What do they do?
They sell the product in bulk to businesses.
Buying it individually increases the taxes & product cost.
So it is for those who do B2B from here, that is they are selling the product in bulk or they are buying the product in bulk, okay?

And B2C? B2C is nothing but selling to people.
What does Amazon do?
Amazon has a big shop, yes! It has a big shop & what does it do?
It sells the products at a better price to the consumers.
It has such a vast platform of E-Commerce where Business to Consumer come & communicate & do the selling also.
The business can both sell & buy.
It’s an E-Commerce platform which I’ve already explained to you in the last topic also.
Amazon & Flipkart are among the best examples for B2C, selling to people, okay?
Now you might have understood the difference between B2B & B2C.
There are some platforms in B2B which can be important for you.
I have told you in the previous topic about how to analyse your product, how you can identify your product as to under which category it will fall, who can buy it, what is your cost, how many products are you selling.
If you have done that analysis regarding your product, then you can understand that you can go towards B2B or B2C okay?
Whatever you have analysed, B2B or B2C can give you extra benefits.
Yes! B2B will have different benefits & B2C will have different benefits.
Friends, we are going to learn about the benefits step by step in this training program.

Let’s see the summary of the module that we have covered.
First of all, we saw what E-Commerce is, what is its history, what is buying & selling plus what are its features.
You can sell both products & services through E-Commerce.
Whichever things are sellable, you can sell all those things that the buyer demands through E-Commerce.
Yes, friends!
Then we saw for whom it is necessary and can you join or not?
Look friends, if you are a shop owner, a professional, a student or if you are someone who is interested in E-Commerce, do a SWOT analysis which will help you to know which product you can sell fast.
We understood that in this small module.
Then we saw the scope .
Scope means what is the requirement & will you gain benefits from it or not.
I had told you many websites such as worldometer, internet lifestyle dot com, google trends & many more websites through which you will know about the requirements in India & outside India.
Understand that just as the internet population is growing, the E-Commerce demand is also growing.
People are converting into online buyers, so you too will need to become online sellers.
Then we saw which platform to choose.
(8:57-9 not needed)
First of all you will need to understand what your product is, what is its requirement, are you able to give a proper solution in the market?
Depending on that, you will need to understand whether to sell your product on an online marketplace or by making your own website, your own hosting platform or self hosted platform.
So I had given you a tip before that when you are starting, start with an online marketplace.
And after understanding the structure, jump forward by making a website.
So choose an online marketplace first, observe & then make your own website because you have to become a brand, friends!
Then we saw what B2B & B2C is.
It can be possible that your business is business to business or you are doing it for business to consumer.
